Hey all!
Hope everyone is healthy and hanging in there.

I was wondering if there are any accommodations being made re: expiring points.

we had a trip planned 2 weeks from today that had to be cancelled. The points are set to expire in August, and I know we will not be able to get down before that.
any I sights/ideas would be much appreciated.

HI
You missed your banking window 2 days ago. Your only hope now is to rent out your points to someone who is willing to go by then.
Last resort, pray that DVC spreads some fairy dust.

Unfortunately, they are not making an exceptions right now fo banked points, or allowing members to bank late.

As mentioned, you just missed your banking deadline. Another option is to deposit into RCI instead of just losing.

They say they are evaluating their policies, so there is always a chance they will make different decisions.

When you say your points expire in August, do you mean you have a September UY and the points expire August 31? If that's the case, you have until April 30 to bank them.

If you have an August UY and the points expire July 31, your deadline to bank was March 31, and you're out of luck.

Start praying for some pixie dust. I doubt parks will even be open by August (just my thoughts, I know others disagree)

Tell me more about why you think this. I don't disagree necessarily but I don't see others saying the same thing.

Unfortunately I don’t think I’m allowed to link to articles or journals written by epidemiologists, I’m not even sure I can mention the websites, but there’s plenty of reports out there that this will affect the United States for much longer than a few weeks or months. I’d take a look at the other countries who were affected before the United States and use their timeline as an example.

edited to add: I’m also looking at concerts, tours, and sporting events canceled in the summer.

I rented out some points for an April stay, which the renter cancelled. These points expire May 31. I asked DVC to allow me to bank, they said no. The email from DVC said that they were considering some kind of compensation.

Fingers crossed for that compensation.

updated communication from
DVC besides sorry deposit into RCI.

I wonder with the talk of furlough, they will have an option to offer it from savings via paying CMs, since the cost in our dues is based on full wages, which now seem to be only guaranteed through April 19th?

I received an email. I requested that DVC move the points to the next use year, but they wouldn't. I assume I got the response because I asked the question. Hope its more than a t-shirt.

I am in the same situation here. I did the "chat" with MS agent on DVCmember website, and the person said that Disney is working on options. So, I emailed DVC to directly request a refund of points or the option to bank them into 2020 UY. We will see. So far, I haven't heard anything.
