Cousins take on the World - Day 8 - The day the cousins said goodbye
Cast of Characters:
Laura (me) - age 34 (sister to Am and and cousin to Annmarie)
Annmarie - age 32 (cousin to Laura and Am)
Annmarie - age 38 (sister to Laura and cousin to Annmarie - to avoid confusion will be called Am)
This was our last morning so we got up, finished packing and had bell services take our luggage. Our Tiffany Towncar pickup was scheduled for 2:00, so we had some time to spare. We spent some time waking around the Wilderness Lodge property. We also used this time to locate some hidden Mickeys that we had read about.
We then hopped a bus for one last trip to MGM. We made our way over to Tower of Terror, only to find that it was temporarily closed. We started to leave and were approached by a group of people who gave us their TOT FastPasses. We were told that since the ride was down, we could come back with the FPs any time that day. Am and I took one last ride on RNRC and then we headed over to WWTBAMPI! I wasn't on top of my game that day, and didn't make it into the top ten.
There was still some time before lunch, so we rode The Great Movie Ride. We got the cowboy scene this time. After that, we made our way over to the '50s Prime Time for lunch. Lunch was bittersweet - we all had a great time and were looking forward to seeing our family again, but it also meant a long, long time until we return. After lunch, we went back to TOT but it was still down. We handed our FPs off to another group of people and made our way out of MGM.
Once back at WL, we used the facilities and went outside to find Eduardo from Tiffany Towncar waiting for us. We made our way to the airport and headed home. After an uneventful flight, our car service was waiting for us at JFK and we headed to my house. Annmarie and I were dropped off, and the car service continued on with Am. Annmarie and I said our goodbyes, and she was in her car heading off to see her baby.
Overall thoughts -
We were disappointed that we didn't get one last trip on TOT. It's become a final-day tradition.
