Courtyard Downtown Disney Question

I remember reading some posts a while back saying that some rooms at this Hotel are worse than others. When we check in should we ask for a room in a particular part of the hotel? Or is there a good chance we will get a decent room anyway if we are staying for 2 weeks? Also I read elsewhere that the rooms here are some of the largest in Orlando. Is this true? If so what are we talking about here; is there a separate sitting area or are they just bigger than say the rooms at somewhere like Holiday Inn Maingate West? Thanks

We had connecting rooms 521 and 522 and they were fine. Very clean and very roomy. We enjoyed our stay in September with the $20.03 rate.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here just last Wednesday night from a $36 Hotwire reservation. I don't think there would be any really inferior rooms, at least not up in the (atrium) tower. From the 4th floor facing the Royal Plaza, we could look down upon the 1st or 2nd floor service portions of the hotel, but this was not really distracting. On the plus side, in the extreme distance we could just make out the tower attraction at Sea World. So, definitely not a poor view. The walk to Downtown Disney was almost exactly ten minutes, and we didn't hurry.

The rooms were large and confortable. One oddity, but not a complaint, was that the beds were awfully low to the ground. They were confortable enough though, and the room featured the advertised high-speed internet connection, a medium-sized table with two chairs, TV with pay-per choices (including Nintendo), room safe, iron with ironing board, etc. For the price it was a steal; even at "standard" (like those here on wdwinfo.com) rates it would still be a good deal and a very nice place.

We had a great stay at CBM in September. We were on the 5th floor. We had a great view of DTD, including the fireworks at midnight (which aren't worth staying awake to see). The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Like you, I had read some mixed reviews about the rooms. A couple of days before our check in date, I faxed a note to CBM, with a room request. The only thing I requested was that our room be free of any mold and mildew problems. DD3 suffered her first asthma attack after a trip to the beach in June. We had a room at beach level that seemed to never really dry out. I explained this in my note and used lots of pleases and thank yous. We got a great room. I don't know if my fax gets the credit for this or if we were just lucky, but it's always worth a try. From what I've read, room assignments get made as early as three days out from your arrival date.

I have stayed at the cbm for 2 weeks before on buisness, and will be returning for 2 weeks on buisness in Dec. I was so impressed with how they treated me b/c of my Marriott Rewards. My last stay was via priceline for $650 (14 nights and roundtrip airfare from CA) - needless to say, it was a very good deal. When I checked in, they asked if I was marriott rewards - then they let me pick from about 10 different rooms. I chose a 1 king bed w/sofa sleeper on the 12th floor, on the corner. It was a very nice home for 2 weeks, and I am looking foreward to returning. The Rewards desk also called my room on the last day to see if everything went ok with my stay.
