Nancy, I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this rough time.

Hi! LORIABIL!

Just wanted to let you know I mailed your fat (if I may say so myself) envelope yesterday and I hope you get it soon! I hope it has lots of coupons you can use!

Jen

Oh Nancy so sorry to hear about your loss your family is our prayers. Michelle

Nancy - Our heartfelt prayers and condolences to you and your family. Sending you many hugs to get you through the days ahead.

NYCDiane - I'm sorry but I didn't get to the PO yesterday to mail off your chunky envie. I spent most of the day at the ER with my 6 year old who broke his elbow in karate. Fortunately he doesn't need surgery, just a cast for 3 weeks but that pretty much ate up my day... and night... :rolleyes1 I'll get it to the PO today. :goodvibes

Oh dear....poor little guy! Aren't ER's fun? :dance3: Hope he didn't do it to his writing hand. :sad2:

Nancy - I'm so sorry for your loss. Your mom sounds like a really special lady with a great personality. Thank you for sharing your story about the time you had with her the past few days before the surgery. I can only imagine how much your heart hurts. We are thinking of you and sending virtual hugs your way.

fairyprincess1 - I sent you an envie on Tuesday.

Sent your envie today. Presidents' Day kind of threw off my schedule, but you should have your goodies soon :goodvibes

Nancy - I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I'm glad you were able to add some more good memories of her before it was her time to go. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

My Mom passed away yesterday.
On Saturday, my sister took her into Manhattan so she could watch her "almost" 3 year old granddaughter take her swimming lesson. Then she treated my Mom to getting her hair and nails done and to a Chinese dinner. She looked beautiful when she got home late that night and had really enjoyed her day. On Sunday, my significant other and I took her out to a movie that she loved and for an Italian dinner that was also her favorite place. (She even bought 4 containers of sauce to take home so I could make pasta for her on Tuesday upon her return from the hospital). Monday morning she was scheduled to go back to the hospital to get two stents put in an artery. As we left the house shortly after 6 am, we were "treated" to the most beautiful, serene sight of 3 inches of freshly fallen undisturbed snow. We both commented how picturesque and perfect it was. And how silent the early morning seemed.

The Cardiac Unit fondly remembered Mom from her earlier 3 week stay right after Christmas. She was her usual friendly and humorous self.
When the surgeon inserted the stents, he found her arteries to be extremely stiff and surrounded by calcium buildup. The stents went in, the doctor and nurses removed their "scrubs" and felt very confident about the success of the procedure. They conversed with my mother and she even joked with them. (She was a lady with a HUGE personality and everyone who met her remembered her and took a liking to her. She had a GREAT sense of humor and shared it with everyone.) Suddenly out of nowhere her blood pressure shot up to 220/80 and she was rushed back into the operating room where she was immediately given meds to lower her pressure. It plummeted to ZERO. The doctors tried for over an hour to revive her; shocking her 5 times, doing CPR, and asperating the blood that had leaked into the sack surrounding her heart, but she did not wake up. Her surgeon (who is also my heart doctor) explained that sometimes when the arteries are so stiff, the plaque cracks like an eggshell with sharp edges and it can puncture an ever so tiny hole in the artery. The hole is so minute that it is naked to the human eye. It rarely happens, but happened to Mom. Blood leaked into the sack surrounding her heart and compressed her heart until she was gone...just like that.
I am so thankful that it happened while she was here visiting so she was not alone in Fla. and that she was not in any pain or did not suffer. It is just such a shock and disbelief that she is no longer here with us. The amount of pain that I feel is immeasurable. :sad2:

We had her body sent to Fla. where we will have her wake and creamation. Since I will be staying in Fla. throughout the month of March in order to clean out her apartment, and get all her affairs in order, I will unfortunately have to "hop off the train" until I am able to return. Please keep my "spot" on the train warm for me! I will really miss reading all of your posts. Thank you for all your ealier well wishes for the speedy recovery of my beloved Mother. :grouphug: :flower3:
Nancy

What a beautiful tribute to your mom. I am so sorry for your loss. I was just in NYC Monday night and Tuesday conducting a training at Maimodides. I'm so glad that you go to spend such wonderful, quality time before her passing.

You and your family are in my prayers. Take care!:grouphug:

njsam.... I second vsimeone's statement...it was a beautiful tribute to your mother, and a wonderful thing to have those precious, beautiful last memories of your mom. My heart goes out to you, as you say goodbye. :grouphug:

I am so sorry for your loss, Nancy. It sounds as though your mom was an incredible woman. A sad reminder to always cherish the times we spend with our loved ones.

Njsam~ My heart goes out to you at this difficult time. You and your family are in my prayers. :grouphug:

Njsam--god bless you in this time of sorrow. May your mother's angel wings lift you up.

Dreamer03--I have not been able to send out your envie this week as my dd has been very sick. I have taken her to the dr and hospital in the past two days and she is on five medications. Dh promises to take your envie to the po tomorrow.

Got these both on Saturday.

Just noticed your countdown ticker. I think you are going as we are coming back. ;) Literally we will just miss each other by a day or so I think. Maybe I should convince DH that we need to extend our stay to save you some postage? :confused3  A girl can hope?

I think that is a great idea! You can tell hubbie that you'll get more coupons that match your needs if we get to know each other better! ;)

Have a great time on your trip!
