In May we purchased into BLT, financing through Disney, and now that it is officially open :cool1:, our first payment is due soon. We have all the loan paperwork and such but should we have a coupon book or something to send payments with? Or do they send a bill?

Thanks.

Do you have direct debit at a lower interest rate or did you pay the higher rate and opt for manual payments?

Disneynutz,
Thank you for mentioning direct debit...that triggered our memory...yes, we signed up for direct debit for the lower interest rate so I guess we won't send them a check too.:)
Thanks.

We did the Disney Financing. I dont remember being asked about direct debit. We got the preferred rate as opposed to the standard rate. Maybe they will ask us to pay via direct debit in order to keep the lower preferred rate. Is there a lower rate than that?

In our paperwork we had the forms for the debits from our checking account. Filled it all out. Bought in March, and our first payment was due June 1. Comes right out of our account.

Didn't you guys have those forms in your paperwork?

Now what I personally am waiting for is when DUES are going to start being owed! I can't even click on the dues part of our online account.

:) They took our funds out of our checking account today for our first purchase in June:thumbsup2. We received a statement for the annual dues a couple of weeks ago. I thought they would use my Visa for that( I can remember telling the Guide that I would use my Disney Visa for that). Anywho! We owed for 6 months (June-Dec) but they are getting it in 5 payments (we figured out) since they have waited til August to draft. So our Monthly MF's are going to be a few dollars higher than what we expected. Just wanted to give you guys a head's up.

THe paperwork was very organized but I thought the process after sending the paperwork in a bit confusing. We had what to expect and when type questions.

Welcome Home Everyone!!

I'm still curious about that, especially to see how BLT opening early (today! :goodvibes) impacts the amount of prorated dues for calendar 2009 and when the payments begin (I oped for direct debit monthly payments). I just looked @ DVCMember.com and I still show $0.00 for dues...

Don't worry, DVC won't forget about you.

Dues are accrued from the time the resort is available to the member and the points are available in your account for use. So if you have a UY prior to today, your dues start today. If you have a latter UY, your dues start on the first day of your UY.

So if we bought in November 08 and have a March use year, will I be getting a bill for my maintenance payments now that BLT is opening? I'd like to pay a half year or a year on my Disney Visa also.

Yes, that's the way I understand it, you will receive a pro-rated dues bill for Aug - Dec.

If you elected to not pay your dues through debits, once posted to your account, you can pay with your CC on the member website.

We also set it up with our paperwork for debiting out of our checking. That will start Aug 15 for VGC...Does anyone know how the MF will be tallied for those of us with use years that did not get 2009 points?

As I understand it people with a March Use Year don't get their first set of BLT points until March 1, 2010, so I think your dues won't begin until next year and will be prorated to only be from that date until the end of 2010... So I wouldn't expect you to get a bill until mid December and then it probably will be for a little more than 83% of the full 2010 calendar year cost.

From what I've read and been told MF's aren't supposed to start until the later of the opening date -or- the first day of your Use year that you actually do receive points. (there is an example in my previous post...)

I had hubby (the actual owner) call yesterday, and he was told that BLT dues will be debited starting Sept 15th. We own (er, he does) 160 points, and it will be 60.34/month for the rest of this year.

Thanks for sharing! $60.34 is higher than I expected per month (I also have 160 BLT points and was expecting about $48.94 per month) but 4 months * $60.34 = $ 241.36 for 2009. I did a little more math and that works out right since BLT is going to be open for 150 days (just over 40% of the year)... I do like to be able to follow the Mouse math! :thumbsup2
