Has anybody done the "Couples Massage" at SSR? I was thinking of suprising my wife with a late afternoon/early evening massage. Then a nice dinner in DTD.

I am not familiar with Saratoga Springs, however, me and my wife did the grand romantic evening at The Grand Floridian. It was awesome! We arrived, we spent time in the gym, then we went to our respective locker rooms to prepare for the massage session. We had herbal tea in the locker room, relaxed in our respective jacuzzi's, then met up again in the massage room. We recieved an incredible 45 minute massage with oils under candle light and soft music. Afterwards, we had dinner at the Polynesian. It was a great evening. We were staying at the All-Star Movies resort, so the only draw back was the moving around, but we used the monorail and buses, but the view was great.:cloud9:

My Husband and I did the couples massage on our Dec. stay at SSR. It was good but not what I expected. I received a massage while my husband received the hydro-therapy in the same room. Then we took a break and had a special herbal tea that was quite nice. Then we went back to the massage room and I received the hydro-therapy while my husband received the massage. We found that the whirlpool used for the hydro-therapy to be quite loud and it made it difficult to completely relax. And the whirlpool and massage given within the same two hours, was a bit much to take in. I would to them separately next time. Also, plan ahead with your partner to spend lots of time enjoying the spa in the locker room, including a fabulous steam room.

but we did schedule massages and peppermint pedicures at the same time, and the pedicure was actually done together. That was fun! DH was totally sceptical about a pedicure; he thought it only involved painting of nails - lol - boy, was he pleasantly surprised! He now says he wants one every night while in WDW :rotfl:

The way it's set up is that you can use the excercise facilities together of course, and sit together in the lounge drinking tea. The dressing rooms with the whirlpools are separate, of course, and then the different treatment rooms will accommodate one or two, depending upon what you want to do, so you can do any combination you'd like, I think.

Anyway, I think the couple's massage would make a lovely date night activity, and I say anytime you want to surprise your DW with something it's a good thing, so go for it!
