Couple of questions....(in the pre-buy research phase still).

1. If you purchase multiple contracts under the same UY, it is easy to book/etc sharing the points? (I thought I read that if you had different UYs, then 1 ressie couldn't really share the points easily, that you had to make separate ressies and then link them. BUT, if you have the same UY, the points are basically combined and you can use them all for 1 ressie?)

2. When booking, do you have to have all the points available right at that moment, or just that you will have the points when the travel occurs? (or is that what borrowing is?).

3. When you bank points, does it bank into the next year and then you can't use them until after that year? (ie - UY is Dec, you bank the 150 points and then you can't use those until that Dec)

Sorry if these questions sound jumbled, just trying to understand everything...

If all your points are the same UY, but different resorts, it is easy to book any resort at seven months out. But you can only use home resort points at 11 months out. You can combine those points for a single night if you want to at seven months out.

You have to have the points when the trip occurs, but you have to have them available to book. For example, you were purchasing a new contract and hadn't closed yet, but you would have them when you traveled, you wouldn't be able to use them to book until you closed.

If you bank points they could not be used in the current year, but only in the next year. And you cannot "unborrow" points.

1. The other caveats I'd give you is that they all must be titled the same way and that DVC must combine them into one master for it to work seamlessly together.

2. I haven't found wording that easily portrays this issue but basically it's based on the points you'd have access to for the actual dates of the reservation. You must be a member in good standing so not late on dues or similar.

3. You cannot unbank or borrow banked points but you can bank points and then borrow from the UY you banked to leaving you with borrowed points in one UY and banked points in the next.
