Couple of ???'s

this is not my first trip but my 3rd in 3 years but I am booking seperate this year and I plan on upgrading to AP's when we get there, so I am wondering if I should get my tickets through getawaytoday.com or should I get the discounted tickets from on base {I am active duty and can get them on base}...there will be NO BLACKOUT days for the days we plan on going if we just get deluxe AP's...I also wonder about getting meal vouchers for items such as Goofy's Kitchen and the other character meals....we did our trip through AAA last year and had all of this included and I would like to do the same but not sure AAA will do the tickets and meals without booking a hotel along with it...so if anyone has any ideas or opinions ....PLEASE feel free to shoot them my way

If I were you, I would go to one of the Costco's in Southern California and buy the Annual Passes there. Then you get the $50 Disneyland Giftcard for each Annual Pass. Also, you would then be able to take advantage of the AP discount on everything from day one.

The only thing you will be giving up is Morning Magic entrance, and I think that is not worth $50 to me.

In terms of meal vouchers, It does not make sense to get vouchers, unless you are getting a ton of them to offset the deliver/handling fee. Just pay at the door and get your AP discount.

From what I understand, when you upgrade you will pay the difference between what you originally paid and the price of the AP. So buying discount tickets does not save you any money in the long run. So, I would go with where ever is most convienient for you.
However, if you plan to upgrade when you get there and do not have backout issues, why not just wait until you get there and purchase your AP, no upgrading involved?

I have yet to figure out where is best to purchase character meal vouchers vs just paying when I get there (using AAA dicount at some for me/ AP discount for you). I will watch this thread to see if anyone has input on this.
