1: - what is generally the best thing to do? - book the hotel and tickets or the flights 1st? - planning on going August next year - for instance if I book the hotel for say 2nd august next year do I look for the cheapest flights and 2nd august this year or look for the cheapest flights in august then book the hotel?

2: - doesnt look like I can get 5 of us (2 adults and 3 kids) in POR and the only resorts we can book are the;
Wilderness lodge cabins
Old Key west
Yacht Club
Beach Club
Boardwalk

any reccomendations? - many thanks:thumbsup2

For flights only I think it depends on where you're flying from. For ourselves there's only 1 flight a week from East Midlands airport direct to Orlando and they obviously prefer package holiday makers than flight only so we book as soon as the flights are available while they're still accepting flight only bookings. We've already booked our flights for August 2010 and will book accommodatuion when we come back from this year's trip. But if you're flying from London or another large airport you'll obviously have a lot more choice of flights.

Can't help you with rooms for 5 except that I think all rooms onsite can provide "rollaway" beds on request which effectively gives you 5 beds - we went once when our kids were teenagers and refused to share a double bed and our son, who was 19 and tall, slept on the rollaway, so a child should have no problem.

Not sure about the best way to book as we always have done packages.

for where to stay we stayed at FW cabins last year and loved it. The setting was amazing and we loved having the space. The only negative was that there was no counter service so if you just wanted a snack you were stuck. The kitchen is fine but i don't go on holiday to cook. We usually just had cereal for breakfast in the cabin.

next year we plan on staying at the beach club.

Have you looked at prices of the contemporary as when I did it was cheaper than FW

really wanted to go to POR - we had no problem fitting 5 in last year, for some reason though the Disney website and the person on the reservation number said we could only have 4 in - just managed to get on the US Disney site and it will let us book 5 at POR no problem:confused3 - and its coming up £1500 cheaper for the fortnight over the beach, yacht and boardwalk, any ideas of who to get in touch with regards this?, many thanks

Disney UK stopped taking booking for 5 in a room a while back, there were lots of threads about it at the time. Only way is thru a US agent now or direct with Disney.com.
I guess its something to do with the free Dining offer thats been expanded so much to UK travellers, they won't want to give 5 people free DDP on a moderate room rate.
