On Saturday, Oct 22, there two girls right next to me stole a jacket.

This was in HS in the Rockin Rollercoaster gift shop. She took the jacket off from the hanger, ripped off the tags, and then put it around her waist. They both did this. And the jackets cost quit a lot of money. They were still in the store by the time I told a CM that works there. He kinda just looked at me and then continued to ring up my items I bought.

The girls got away with it. I am hoping that the CM just didn't hear me.

Opinions?

The CM heard you just fine. I've been told from the actual "plain clothes" security/enforcement guys (the folks that actually do security in the parks that you don't see, not the CM's dressed like security guards) that store CM's are not allowed to confront shoplifters. They are all well aware of the shoplifting, but it's Disney's policy to allow it to occur unless they are stopped by the plain clothes security staff and dealt with accordingly.

Wow, I did not know that!

Years ago I watched as a plainclothes officer stopped someone who was walking out of the World Of Disney store. At first I had no clue what was going on but it became obvious when he was joined by another security person who must have asked the young lady to open her shopping bag for checking.

I was just sitting outside waiting for DH and DS to return from the restrooms. If I hadn't been people watching at the time I might have totally missed the whole thing.

Also, at least back where I grew up security had to wait until the suspected shoplifter actually left the store. My bet is that the CM alerted security who was either in the store or nearby.

And like you if I had seen obvious shoplifting I would still have alerted a CM.
