Country Music Full/Half April 25th, 2009

Where is the old Spaghetti Factory? Dh and I might join you if its not too far a drive.

Cecilia

This will need confirmation but "The Google" has given me the following information:

160 2nd Ave N
Nashville, TN 37201
(615) 254-9010

I think this is the site for the restaurant.

Oh thats definately within walking distance of the expo! I even had a chance to peek at the menu. Dh would love to eat there! I don't usually eat pasta before a race, but for you guys I would make an exception. Who knows? maybe it will make me run faster.

There is plenty of food and drink handed out at the finish. And later there is plenty to be bought post race, but that can nickel and dime you to death so feel free to put an order in with me if you will be hanging around between the half and full.

:stitch:'Ohana Monday Mixer :stitch:

Please join us on the 'Ohana team thread for the Monday Mixer. The Mixer starts here.

There are many reasons why we race. Sometimes it's a way to challenge ourselves. Sometimes it's a strategy to keep ourselves motivated. Sometimes it's a reason to reunite with old friends and meet new ones. And sometimes, just sometimes, it's about the goodies. :teeth:

This week's question is about those goodies:

What is your favorite medal/t-shirt/race-bag goody, and WHY?

So come on over to 'Ohana. Share with us your favorite pictures and stories. Brag about the bling. If you haven't done a medal-awarding event, tell us about a shirt. If you love a particular expo, we want to know why. And if you're new to races, visit anyway. You can get some ideas for future races and "ooh" and "ahhh" over the pretty, shiny things.

On a more serious note: Two of our 'Ohana cousins, Maria and Richard, could use some extra hugs, well wishes, and PD this week. If you've got the time, please let them know you're thinking of them.

Event is getting near and I am looking forward to the break. I know I will finish. No records for me and that is just fine right now.

Me too Lily! Not going for time, I'm just going to finish! After my 9 mile run on Sunday, I now KNOW that I can do it! :thumbsup2

Way to go, Allie..I knew you would be able to do it!! See everyone real soon!!

Wendy posted this on the Lean Meaner thread and her words resonated with me, so I thought I'd pass it along as it serves as the inspiration for this week's mixer. :flower3:

It feels like Spring in my head-- a time for cleaning out the junk, renewing my resolve, and enjoying all that is beautiful around me. It's a renewed hope thing -- Do you feel that way, too?

So, WISHers, springtime is in the air as well as on the calendar. And even if your neighborhood isn't enjoying springlike weather quite yet, it's fun to plan for that day that's just around the corner. So this week's set of related prompts are...

What outdoor activity (or activities) do you most look forward to in the spring, and why? What is an annual spring tradition for you? How do you enjoy that first, perfect spring day?

Feel free to talk about prepping the bike for the season's first ride or the first run in shorts. But we're also interested in hearing about other activities: gardening, kite-flying, spring cleaning, picnics, roller blading, hiking, and so on.

So tell us your stories. The 'Ohana Monday Mixer starts here.

Only 4 weeks to go!!!!!

Has anyone gotten their confirmation card? I read that we need it to pick up our race number at the Expo but I have not seen anything else about this mentioned. Just wondering if this is something I should have gotten already.

Mark my family as tentative on the Spaghetti Factory dinner. I think we are going to hang out and wait for Liz and Patrick to get in and depending on their schedule, probably have dinner with them!

See you all really soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no confirmation card yet! Getting excited and really looking forward to Nashville!

Will we get something in the mail? :confused3

The Spaghetti Factory in Atlanta will take "preferred seating" reservations. That's where you call them and say "we're coming and this is how many we have". ;) Does the one in Nashville? Or are we just all going to show up at 5:00?

Just wondering.

What time is everyone going to the Expo on Friday? I am going to try and keep the kids in school until 11:00, that way they count for being there. Then we will head up there. It will take about two hours.

Also, did anybody sign up for a 3 hour finish time? ;)

Sorry for all the questions, but I figured I better ask before I forget. :headache::rotfl2:

I'm really getting excited!! :yay:

No. This is on their site:

Confirmation Cards, Final Information and Parking and Shuttle flyers will no longer be mailed to each participant as was done in past years.
Confirmation Cards will be available on this website on Tuesday, April 21st . Please visit our website at this time and download your confirmation card. A reminder email will be sent to all registered participants.

I believe there was a PP stating that if we get up to 25 people we are getting one of the side rooms to ourselves.

We are leaving after work on Thursday and staying in Florence, KY. We will finish the trip Friday and probably stop at the hotel real quick just to drop out stuff off. It will take about 3.5 hours drive time but 2.5 clock time because we are changing time zones. We will probably be at the expo around noonish. The expo is opened until 7:00pm Friday.

I'm just doing the half and am aiming for sub 90:00

See you there.

Thanks for all that helpful info.

Oh, and I'm doing the half too. You will be showered and cleaned up before I even cross the finish line. I look forward to meeting all of y'all! :grouphug:

You're welcome. My friend is running the full so I was going to stick (quite literally probably:rotfl:) around the finish line to wait for him and all the WISHers. Then it is off to shower and see DMB play at Vanderbilt.

Wow.....less then 4 weeks to go.....it will be here before we know it!!! Hope everyone's training is going well!

Glad to see more are joining us Friday night at The Old Spaghetti Factory.

Here is the updated list:

2 - Karen (kareneast) & John (Space Ranger)
3 – Jeanne (jeanneg) & John & DS
2 – Pat (WDWFAN9) & Jim (jims2cool)
1 – Sara (msblrobs)
4 – Lisa (princessrunner) & family
2 – Anne (maherae) & Robert
2 – Susie (escape) & Steve
2 – Lily (Tiger Lily 03) & Ted
2 – Frank (FireDancer) + 1
1 – Chester (rKyDeX)
4 – Sandi/Allie (aldisneygrl) & family
2 – Kathy (momoftwogirls) & Mike (Optimator)
2 – Cecilia (Cruella de mom) & DH

We are currently at 29 but a few are tentative so it may be less. According to the Old Spaghetti Factory's website they have private rooms for groups over 25. Even though we currently have 29 if some of the tentatives aren't able to make it we will be under the 25. Also, we don't know if the private room is even available. Since we are over the 25 (or at least hopefully will end up being close to it), I will call Old Spaghetti Factory to get info on the private room and/or to see if they can do anything for us since we are a large group. If not, they open at 5pm so if we meet there for 4:30 or 4:45 we should be the first in line & hopefully won't have any problems getting an area together. They do also have call ahead seating, but I don't know if they will actually take calls before they open. Old Spaghetti Factory's website is www.osf.com if anyone wants to check it out. The site seems to be down right now so I can't check there location but I believe the address that Frank gave is the correct one.

Sandi/Allie - Our flight lands at 9:10am on Friday. As of right now our plan is pick up our rental car & head to the hotel to check in. After that we'll probably head over to the expo. Maybe stop for some lunch on the way, depending on what time it is by that point.

Look forward to seeing everyone in 3 1/2 weeks!!! :cool1:

I'm not 100% sure, but I think I may have put down 3:00 since I did City of Oaks in 3:01 and I think they wanted something verifiable. With my gimpy foot, I am going to be alot slower than that but will accept the better seed if I get it. I'm not fretting the 4 hour limit for this race, but my Princess half was ugly.

Allie - I also put down a 3 hr finish. Princess was on track for right around that until I reminded myself I wanted to slow down and have fun.

Alright, all of you speedies!! I will cheerfully be supporting you from the back of the pack!! :cool1: CMM is coming up fast!!! :cool1:

Karen: Please change us from 3 people to just 2. My son has to work that Saturday and won't be doing the marathon. He WILL be able to join us for the barbecue dinner on Saturday night.
Thanks for organizing this!

Your friendly Panda will be at the half also. I need a princess to walk with, anyone interested in about a 3 hr half pace? Liz, Jeanne, Pat?

Racing Party Panda:hippie:

Yay, Dave is coming! :banana::banana::banana:
I'm having some foot issues, so 3:00 is not really doable at this time, but I'm happy to eat your dust! What about Erica? She was really flying at the WDW marathon! Where are you guys staying? A nice group of WISHers will be at the Donelson Pike Hampton Inn.
Don't forget to sign up for the Old Spaghetti Factory dinner!
