Has anyone stayed here recently? Just wanted to make sure they're still decent.

TIA for any/all imput - I have a reservation here for October.

Please let us know when you get back how you like the place. I find it gets decent reviews through TripAdvisor. Also, depending on the time of year, you can stay for around $49 a night. It certainly seems like a good place to stay.

I stayed here several years ago (I think 3) and liked it then. I also read the reviews on TripAdvisor, so figured I'd be safe staying here again. Will let everyone know how it was.

We just returned Saturday night. We stayed here part of the time and at Pop Century part of the time. We really liked it here. It was very clean. The room was large with two queen beds. There was a sink with a long counter in the bathroom and there was also a sink and mirror outside the bathroom. There was a small refrigerator and a microwave. Everyone there was friendly. The continental breakfast consisted of waffles, pastries, muffins, three kinds of cereal, oatmeal, bagels, bread/toast, peanut butter, jelly, cream cheese, apples, juices, milk, coffee, etc. I'm probably forgetting something. We really enjoyed staying there and would stay there again. I'll be glad to answer any specific questions.

Hello!

Do they have a free shuttle to Disney? If so, did you use it?

DJT- we are looking at Pop Century and the Country Inn in 2 weeks as our plans at Disney's Vero Beach were cancelled due to damage at the resort. Was there any damage to either of these two that you noticed? We have stayed at that CI and liked it. How did it compare to PC? Which would you rate as better? Anything you disliked at either? We can get a little better rate at CI and the freebies certainly tip the scale. And we were not planning on Disney parks but might resort hop. Given those factors which one? TIA!

mishoe-we were there last July and liked it very much.

RC Fan,

Yes, they have a shuttle to the parks but we didn't use it so I can't give you any information on that. You might check with them to find out information regarding the shuttles. Phone (407) 239-1115; website www.countryinns.com/orlandofl_wdwresort; e-mail cilakebu@jhmhotels.com.

msdis,

There was no damage that we saw to either hotel. I read a post by Tyler on the Resort board that a pole at Pop was damaged by Jeanne but nothing major.

The rooms at CI were much larger than at Pop. The beds at CI are queen size and at Pop they are full size. The CI beds are more comfortable than the beds at Pop. My DH complained about feeling the "springs" or "wires" in the beds at Pop. I didn't notice it until he pointed it out to me and then I could feel it, too. He's a light "problem" sleeper anyway. We paid the same price for Pop as we did for CI ($55.00). We really enjoyed being able to have breakfast (free at CI) each morning before starting our day. We also liked having a refrigerator. We didn't use the microwave. If you asked my DH which he would rate as better, he would definitely say CI. I liked being at Pop when we went to the parks because I liked being able to ride the bus and leave the car parked. Food was expensive at Pop so we usually ate a breakfast bar in our room and then ate our other meals in the parks. Pop is still new and I liked that. I can't think of anything I disliked at CI. We would probably stay at CI again instead of Pop even if we were going to the parks. It's close enough that the drive to the parks is easy. We also did resort hopping from Pop and it wasn't as convenient as driving. One thing we definitely liked better at Pop was the air conditioner because it could be set at a specific temperature just like at home! We'd set it at 74 degrees when leaving our room in the morning and then lower it when we returned in the evening. Hope this helps.
