Country Inn at Calypso Cay (39.50 rate) OR DTD Courtyard (20.02 rate)??

HI all


I have reservations for Calypso Cay Country Inn & Suites at an entertainment rate of $39.50 standard room per night for 5nts.(the King is available for $49).
I just called DTD Courtyard Marriott and they have 4 of the 5 nights at $20.02 per night rate.
( I will have to be quick though)

I have not stayed at either place before as we usually stay on site Disney ( AllStars to Beach Club).
This is for a quick trip for myself and 9 year old son.
We were trying to get a cheap trip in and I feel that these are both excellent rates, but not that knowledgble on the properties, although I have read posts about both..

any help , advice , etc would be greatly appreciated

The Downtown Disney Courtyard is onsite so has associated benefits such as e-nights. The bus service runs to a schedule so has served us far better than the Disney wait and see system.

Also the Courtyard seems to be cheaper! If there is not some feature or facility that you *must* have at the other hotel it is great that there is still availability at the 20.02 rate!

I would definitely go with Courtyard Marriott... the rooms are spacious, it has 2 pools, it is within walking distance of DTD, and has Disney transportation, and perks like E ticket night included. You couldn't be any closer if you were actually staying onsite. Don't delay, call right away... saving almost $80 seems like it is well worth the change. Keep the other night at the Calypso Cay Country Inn, though! Good luck!

Unfortunately there are no E nights scheduled for the time we are going , at the end of september.So this probably is not going to be a factor for us.

My concerns are more with the pool, proximaty to restaurants , and overall the condition of the rooms..

Courtyard wins hands down! It is closer. You can walk to crossroads and downtown disney from where you will be staying. I saw the location of the other hotel, and it is a bit down the road from the DD disney entrance.

I too would suggest Courtyard. While Calypso Cay is near 192 which has resturants, the area it is in is not as nice. The place is new, but across the street is a parking lot type RV park. Whereas with Courtyard, you will be on hotel Blvd with easy access to DD and Crossroads.

How did you get the rate of $20.02 a night?? Sounds like a great deal. I wouldn't mind looking into it myself. Thanks

Hiya Ann !

The $20.02 rate is a special specific to this hotel apparently. You have to call the hotel direct to book. Below is the link to the hotels website with all the hotel info and the phone number.

However, its been suggested by a user on another post about this deal that the promotion ends on October 3rd, so it might not available for the time of our intended stays - no harm in calling to check though !

It appears that the defining factor here is money.
Firstly, is the "$20.02" rate for your entire stay? The way I understand it is that it is only good Sun through Thurs. I believe Fri and Sat are considerably more expensive, so find out what it's going to cost you, if you plan on staying those nights. Also, I believe the Courtyard Hotel does have a breakfast room, but the breakfast is NOT free so you'll need to factore that cost in. Lastly, it's my understanding that this special rate has to be paid for the moment you reserve the room and there are NO refunds. I don't know about you, but I prefer to always have an out in the event that my vaca plans change or I find another hotel in the meantime that better suits my needs.

I will be staying at Country Inns and Suites. The price for a suite (smallish) is very good, the breakfast is free, the pools are adequate and it's a very new hotel (How beat up can the propery be) ..
Yes, it's not close to WDW, DTD .. but for me, who cares. I agree with the others who vote for Marriot and the amenities it has, so long as those amenities suit you. Good luck and Enjoy!!
