Country Inn and Suites Calypso Cay

Has anyone stayed here recently? Thoughts on your experience?

We will be arriving in Orlando probably around 7 PM on May 1st, 2009. Check into the Poly first thing on the 2nd, so we just need a place to crash for the night, let the kids swim a bit before bed. We did this in 2007 and it worked well for us, but we weren't happy with the hotel we stayed at so I want something different.

We stayed at a Country Inn in Niagara Falls last fall and it was wonderful and that's what got me looking here. I saw they have a water slide, which the kids would love, and continental breakfast is included which will help us get out quickly in the AM. We want to try to make Rope drop, or soon after, in the MK after checking in at the Poly.

So, any thoughts? How far a drive is it from this hotel to Disney? (Specifically, the Poly, so basically drive time to the MK) Do you think it's a good choice and if not, what should I consider?

Good breakfast buffet. Ok hotel. Nothing special about the room, but we stayed there a few weeks back and were happy with the cleanliness and decor. My daughter really liked the pool slides and I loved the jacuzzi. Hopefully you will have time to see it.

Unless you are expecting something posh, I think you will be satisfied : )

Location, we drove to MK from the hotel but not Poly so I think 15 minutes or less, not sure exactly. I didn't find there to be traffic from there.

clean rooms nothing fancy. small hole in the sheet still room clean. food for breasfast ok nothing great. it gets you started for the day.

Thanks!! Sounds like it will be good for a one night stay for us. 15 mins or less sounds good to me.
