Country Inn and Suites, Calypso Ca...what is around ??

We will be staying there in Sept. My parents will be getting there a day before us. They will not have a car until we arrive. What can they walk to? What about the shuttle service? Places for dinner???

There is a grocery store, Publix, about three blocks away and a small strip mall with a chinese restaurant and a Taco Bell there. There are alot of fast food chains that are in the area but not sure how far of a walking distance.

Calypso Cay is a nice hotel and the staff is very helpful.

There really is not a whole lot in walking distance. I don't know about their shuttle, but I think they offered one.

The Country Inn & Suites Calypso Cay is on the top of my list to stay at in Oct.2005 for a Disney Vacation(If we don't stay on site)
I would like to know if you could write a review when you return. I would love to hear about your experience. My family consists of myself, my husband and my son will be 5 at the time of the trip. So we are looking for a family friendly place(nice and bright).

This is my family's favorite place in Orlando! The staff was terrific, rooms were super clean, etc. The pool was the best for the kids! Have fun!!
The kids want to go back over and over, even if we aren't going to parks or anything. Like just for a weekend (we live close).

Hi! We loved our stay there a couple of years ago. The pool area is so nice. It is zero entry & has a slide.

Sadly, unless something has recently opened, there is nothing within walking distance. You are not far from DTD, just a couple of miles. I'd either take a taxi there, or just have pizza delivered to your room.

Sea World is about a 10-15 minute drive. They could take a taxi there, too.

I don't recall anything being within walking distance, except for a convenience store. There are many restaurants a short drive, but nothing close enough to walk to. We did not use the shuttle so I can not be of help to you there. There is a snack bar poolside. I think they had hot dogs, chips, drinks, etc. Also, there are the free cookies, popcorn (at Amerisuites), and a.m. breakfast.

I think I would opt for the pizza delivery.


On a side note, we loved Calypso Cay. Enjoy your vacation!
