DH and I are off on Saturday for our short Florida trip
, and I'm wondering just how much chance there is of us taking things at a leisurely pace this time!
We seem to have spent every weekend for the last year rushing around up and down the country or hard at decorating / furniture removals / trips to the tip here (f-i-l's illness and death and my mum's house-move combined with our extension building and decorating) but, because we're not really sitting-round-the-pool types, I have a feeling we'll come back just as shattered as we are now
In the last three weekends alone I've hung 13 rolls of wallpaper and glossed 15 doors
so I'm now officially taking a break from the decorating and have started my 'winding down'
I can't wait ...

, seeing as it's just the two of you this time
Anyway, my brother came out with something during our recent trip which became the epithet for the entire duration - "It's our holiday and we should do what we want to do. If that means doing nothing, then that's fine (I'm paraphrasing a bit) . It actually worked rather well. Whilst we rarely stick to our itinerary, I do usually feel that there are things we 'should' have done and that we've missed out, or let ourselves down in some way if we don't fit in all our pre-determined plans.
