Counter service water?

New to the boards. Considering the dining plan for our trip after Thanksgiving, hopefully everyone at Disney will be up to speed on the plan by then. Anyway my ? is about water. We are not big soda drinkers, and was wondering whether you can get bottled water with your counter service meal? I know you can get bottled water for your snack which is great. Personally, I think there are too many goodies on the plan to begin with. Desert for counter service lunch and dinner is more than our kids get on a regular basis i don't want them to get too filled up with all the treats.

Also, my DD will only be 2 when we are going. I already asked and she cannot be included on the plan even though we were willing to pay for her, too. She eats more than my DS sometimes and he is 6. Are the kids meals large enough to share between the 2 of them? I imagine there will be more than enough food at the sitdown meals, but how about the counter service meals? They both like generally the same things, chicken nuggets, pasta, hot dogs, grilled cheese, etc.

Thanks ahead of time.

I don't know if you can get bottled water, but they will give you a class of water w/ ice for free. Or you can always pick up a bottle of water on your way in. We use the Brita sports bottles so get the free water and filter it.

Yes, you could choose bottled water as your drink for your counter-service meal. If you're using the dining plan, it would be included as your drink with the meal.

I'm not sure as to the portion size of the kid's meals. You could always pay separately for her counter-service meals (usually around $3.99/tax for the ones I've seen), and the table-service meals should be big enough for both of your children to share.

You can look at the menus at www.allearsnet.com under the Dining section to see many restaurant choices. Just be sure to also look at the list of participating restaurants under the dining plan. It's available here.

Hope this helps!

The kids meals are enough to share. Especially the chicken strips. My 9 year old couldn't finish alot of the meals when we were there.

I was pleased that water was an option at the counter service locations. :)

If you find you need more food than a child's serving will offer... just order adult portions and have the kids split it. ;) You can usually get chicken strips etc. in adult portions.

We usually don't eat dessert with our lunch... other than fruit or yogurt... so it was odd to have all the extra goodies. Some counter service locations had fruit bowls which were good dessert options. Sometimes we would only order 2 desserts and split them between the 4 of us, myself, dh, dd(6) and ds(4).

Or... you could always order the extra 1 or 2 desserts and offer it to the next person in line. :goodvibes

Yes, you can get bottled water with your counter service meal. They have Dasani.

Great good to know. That should take care of our need to buy or have shipped water down to the resort.

Yup, we always get a cup of iced water at the counter service places. Those are free. Sometimes the water can taste kind of bad, so we pack a Brita Fill-n-Go water bottle, which we pour our iced water into, and then drink it from the bottle. Tastes nice and clean after it's filtered! Saves a bunch of money too over buying bottled water.
