Counter Service or ADR during MNSSHP

We will be attending MNSSHP on Thursday September 30th. I currently have an ADR at Tony's Town Square for 5:25pm. This is going to be our only night at MK this trip. I am beginning to this we should cancel the ADR and just get counter service that night so we will have more time at the park and party. My husband says that a busy counter service could take as long as the sit down meal so we might as well keep the ADR. What do you think - keep the ADR or cancel and do counter service?

Thanks in advance,
Connie

We are doing our Table Service meal earlier in the day and will just do CS in the evening. I know the party doesn't start until 7pm, but once we enter MK at 4pm, we don't want to spend the time with a TS.

I disagree about the TS taking as long as a CS too- the only CS I have ever waited at was Cosmic Ray's, but there is no way that it was as long as a TS could be.

I agree with you, between it being your only night there adn the price yo uare paying, I'd grab a quick bite and be off. And while we havn't been for MNSSHP, we were there for MVMCP and the CS were not busy at all, not to say it can't be, but I'd be shocked if it took as long as TS.

Have fun!

It all depends on when the parade starts and what your plans are for that day. If you want time to ride and shop, go for counter service. While they CS places will be busy, the turnover will be fast and any line you wait in might be a minor inconvenience if you want more time in the park. I think overall, it's less stressful to eat at a TS place vs. CS. However, it's more time-consuming to eat TS. I guess you have to make that decision.

But, if your DH is the type that will be like, "I told you so" if you happen to get a slower server, or some other fluke, I'd just go with CS.

You may want to check the MNSSHP info for what is open once the party starts. I know during MVMCP there are very few options for places to eat. I would go ahead and have a good sit down meal at Tony's and then be set for the night.

I agree with your husband, keep the TS ressie and enjoy a nice dinner before going to the party. We did Peco Bills last year and they had a line out the door and Cosmic Rays was worse!

My first party, MNSSHP on 06 we ate at Cosmic Ray's. It was a zoo. Last year, MVMCP we had an ADR at 5:40 for the Plaza and it was great. In 8 days we have a 4:45 ADR for CP so we will be out and having a great time before 6. I'd keep the ADR.

I'd try for a little bit earlier reservation at Tony's...like 4:45 or 5:00. You'll be out in about an hour and still have a little time before the party starts to do a few things.

Even if you can't get an earlier reservation, I'd keep the one you have...Tony's will get you through fast. But would suggest you make sure you check in for the party & get your wristband before you go to dinner...the lines to get wristbands will be long between 6:30 & 7:00 so save yourself the hassle of those long lines. Get your wristbands/maps/trick or treat bags...then go to dinner & relax before your party.

We ate at CRT before the party last year, and it was a wonderful way to get in a party mood.

That's a difficult decision. I'd keep the adr because it sounds like the lines for CS places during the party time are crazy long.

We have an adr at the Plaza for 4:25pm on the night of our MNSSHP. Will we have time to get our wristbands, etc., before dinner?

Thanks for the responses. I can't move my reservation to any earlier time and the only other reservation available would be at 4:15 at the Plaza. I think I will keep our ADR and just enjoy dinner.
