Counter Service Meals with a Gluten Allergy!?

I've made all our ADRs (listed below if anyone is interested!) and made the CM aware of my husband's gluten allergy, but now I'm wondering about Counter Service meals.

The only thing I've heard is that you can get a gluten-free hot dog bun at ... oh what's it called... in the MK?

Anyway - anyone know of a good website that talks about gluten-free foods at CS places?

Here I am: same challenge - DD with gluten allergy and we manage fine in WDW. You dont need to change websites. Go to the DISabilities board and post your questions.

Yes CS is more challenging, but it can be done. The only thing is the wait time as they will cook you your GF from scratch (if they have the facilities to do so). Best way around it is to know which CS can accommodate you in each park so you know before you go, and try plan to eat at off peak times to cut down on waiting.

I was just in Disney this past weekend with my girlfriend who is allergic to gluten.

We didn't eat a lot outside of our table service reservations but she was able to get a hamburger at Electric Umbrella (Epcot) with a gluten free roll. We basically just stopped to ask and usually they were able to tell us whether they could accomodate us or not.

We ate a few times at the Pepper Market in Coronodo and that was great also.

We also ate at Whispering Canyon while we were there and the chef was amazing. His name was Eddie! =) And not only did he come out to talk to my friend to discuss options and get her order, he came out again later to check on her and find out about dessert.

We also ate at Le Cellier and Cape May Cafe with success!

I'm gluten intolerant also (and vegetarian)

Gluten free hamburger and hot dog buns are pretty regularly available and counter services. The food courts in the values have been able to do gluten free pizza and pasta, but there is usually a decent (more than 15 minute) wait for it. If your willing to wait they can do just about anything, but be prepared to wait especially if they are busy. Depending on your sensitivity level, they can pretty quickly do bunless burgers, or crouton less salads, but those come with more risks.

My son has multiple food allergies and counter service is a challenge but always possible. It does take a longer wait for your food so plan on the extra time to keep you safe. ALWAYS ask to speak to a chef or manager at the counter service locations to insure that you will be safe. There are also dessert options available but you would have to ask for them.

DDIL had a hamburger with gluten free bun and french fries at Pecos Bills without any problem. It was christmas time and very busy so she didn't ask for a chef and it was fine.

Had really great burger, mac cheese, and baked fries for my birthday at Liberty Inn in Epcot. Also good pepperoni pizza from Pizza Planet at DHS.

You may want to be careful with the snack carts - any time I get something from one that also sells the pretzels, I end up getting sick. :/

You can ask guest services for a copy, but they may give you and old one (when I asked, I got the 2007 version that still listed rice krispy treats at Main Street Bakery). I had a lot more luck writing WDW.Special.Diets@disney.com for info.

Disney Dining also told me that the snow cones at Japan and roasted flavored nuts everywhere are GF.
