Bumming about Flame Tree too. It seems to always be closed when we go there. I have been leaning towards Pizzafari based on the comments on the boards.

We thought Yak & Yeti was awful. All the other options are acceptable. We like sandwiches from Tamu Tamu supplemented with fruit from the stand near the safari.

Looks like the flame tree is closed until Sep 19, 2010.

Flame Tree is by far our favorite counter service restaurant in AK. However, you *do* have to like BBQ. The seating arrangement also has quite a few nooks and crannies so we can feel somewhat 'private' compared to many of the other counter service locations.

Thank you for the Tamu Tamu suggestions that actually looks very good! Our plan was to head to AKL and eat at Mara and then have a drink at Victoria Falls and shop at AKL but if we change our mind Tamu Tamu it is!

I'm also sad that Flame Tree will be closed when we are there.

We have been to Pizzafari and, well, I wasn't crazy impressed by their pizza....but maybe we need to be more adventurous with their menu? And we also got food from Yak and Yeti and thought it was just kind of "meh"....

Restaurantosaurus sounds like a great place to try, though, because of the A/C I'm guessing it is in Dinoland?
