counter service eating during MVMCP?

We couldn't get the time we wanted for a sit-down, so we decided to do CP for lunch that day. We will go back to WL for a rest and come back for the party around 5ish. Should we attempt to eat at this time? Or wait unuitl six? I know we will be herded into Tomorrowland and by then, Cosmic rays may be too packed. Any suggestions?

Because the MK is closed and MVMCP is considered a private party, I believe counter service type eats are closed. I think they close one hour before park closing which would be 5:00 pm.

You can always call wdw dine and ask.

We ate at Cosmic Rays last year for MVMCP. We got to MK early and watched the fireworks, then we were herded to tomorowland had our picture taken, rode Buzz (a few times) and then ate at Cosmic Rays. I did not think it was too busy. We were able to get a table no problem and as we were finishing dinner the party was just starting. We are planning on doing the same thing this year! We may just see you there!

We were able to order from Pecos Bill and eat while waiting for the first parade in Frontierland.
