Counter Service - Are adult and child DDP credits pooled?

Does anyone have any definitive thoughts on this, particularly anyone using the 2008 plan? I know that children are "supposed" to eat off of the child menu, but I think that my DD and I can very well share an adult meal (especially with a dessert - a luxury I've never done off the DDP). I just want to know how the CS credits are calculated. For 8 nights, will we have 24 counter service (there are 3 of us) or 16 adults and 8 child credits? Thanks in advance!

Unless things have changed in the last couple weeks, they are pooled. You definitely could share an adult meal with your daughter if you wanted, it would leave you a CS for breakfast which you could also share. On you card it will say 2A and 1C. You will not be able to order more than 2 adult meals at a time, otherwise it doesn't matter how you use the CS credits.

They were pooled a week ago. A few times I ordered kids meals - others we split adult ones. It all averaged out in the end, but there was just a "pot" of cs meals for all of us to split.

I was wondering about this also. At some CS places, my kids might like a bbq sandwich that isn't on the "adult" menu, but if we eat lunch at Pizza Planet, they don't differentiate between the child/adult servings. If they "pool" the CS credits, I could possibly order my kid the bbq sandwich at Flame Tree and not have to pay OOP for it?

It depends on the CM taking the order. There is no definitive "you can't order more than 2 adults at a time" This is an absolutely wrong statement. The CM decides. I had two different experiences last week with this. We were 2A, 2C.

At one, I ordered 4 adult counter service meals. All of us were present so the CM absolutely knew we were ordering adult for the kids. Not a question at all. She told us all the desserts etc, talked to the kids and did not question the adult meals once.

At another the CM stated that we had to get 2 childrens meals. They didn't have children's chicken at this place, only adult chicken strip (Pinochios in MK if I recall correctly). I stated this as a problem and that we had gotten all adults before. She said it was fine but we had to ring them up separately, ie. not on the same slip. So she did 2 Adult meals on one slip then did 2 more adults on another slip.

I bet it depends a lot on the restaurant manager and what they tell the CMs they are allowed to do.

I don't understand this at all. Why do they have to ring them up separately?

If I stay for 7 nights and have 7 CS credits, I can use all 7 CS any time I want, even all 7 at one time, right? Not that I'm planning to do anything like this...just theoretically.

I *think* the reason they do this is because your KTTW is going to reflect how many adults and children are in your party. For example, if you have 2 adults and 2 children, your KTTW is encoded to reflect that you *should* be ordering 2 adult meals and 2 child meals at one time. If you choose to order 4 adult meals, it stands to reason to me that the computer is going to reject that since, again, it "thinks" that your children should be eating child meals. However, if you ring up 2 adult meals twice, the computer won't balk since it "knows" that you have 2 adults on the DDP. Also, given your example, I think in theory that you should be able to use all 7 credits at once, but my guess would be that even that probably sends the computer into a tailspin if a CM were to try and ring that up.

Someone please feel free to chime in if I'm mistaken - I am, afterall, just guessing. :flower3:
