I do have a question about NYE. The first post indicates that it is a formal night and we've got clothes for it.

Yet, nothing I have received from Disney for the cruise makes any mention of a formal night. So, is it really going to be dress up and how are people who aren't on these boards supposed to know?

Yet, nothing I have received from Disney for the cruise makes any mention of a formal night. So, is it really going to be dress up and how are people who aren't on these boards supposed to know?

Every cruise has some sort of formal night. If you notice online, you can even order a tux. In my experience you can't go wrong with whatever you choose to wear. There will be people super dressed up and some that are casual. They also have family portrait sessions set up for formal night.

We are really looking forward to the cruise and meeting everyone!!

Happy Christmas to all my fellow cruisers! It's almost scary to think that I need to be ready to be on board in less than a week but I know it will be so worth it!

I don't see anything officially from DCL as to NYE being formal night either, but I think it's safe to say that they will make NYE the semi-formal night. On 4 night cruises they don't actually call it a formal night, but as the PP said, you can wear whatever makes you comfortable. We have changed our minds as we were going to go all out, and now that the diet has failed miserably and we have Christmas eating ahead of us, we are going to go for more semi-formal. I haven't even figured out what I can squeeze into yet but I know I have a pair of black slacks that will work if I can't get a dress to fit!

Wow! It's been waaaay too long since I have gotten on here. I stay connected to the FB group mostly. I apologize!

My DD LOVES Vibe, doesn't care for Edge. Of course she gets to hang out with her older brother there, but she could go to Edge and hang with her younger brother too. She just hasn't cared for Edge since our first cruise. That could have been because she felt "alone" because her younger brother was still in the Oceaneer age.

Question for dgreen72 and cyntex1, do your 14 year olds plan to go to Edge or Vibe? Jamie's leaning towards Vibe as she has never been old enough in the past and is excited for this "rite of passage" (unless she finds that there are no 14 year olds, in which case she'll head to Edge).

SUPER exciting...and semi-freaking out. Trying to get Christmas together and thinking about packing is a different type of mode for me! Hard to believe there is just SEVEN days!

I don't think it will until after the dry-dock in 2 years. The ship will have to do some upgrades to the wifi network to be able to handle 2000 plus devices.

Hi all, checking in. I do read the messages but since I'm the one left behind (my MIL and two daughters are going, not me or DH) I haven't been my usual chatty self.

My youngest, Rachel, is 13 (14 in March) and really, really excited about the Edge. She makes lots of friends and keeps in touch with them. She spent all of her time there on the last two cruised (Mediterranean in August 2013, and Fantasy in Caribbean in 2012). I had to remind her that Grandma is taking this cruise with them to spend some time with them, so don't abandon her!

The 16 year old, Stephanie, had to be coerced to go to Vibe last time and really doesn't care for it. She's too introverted. I told her she had to at least try and if she didn't like it, she didn't have to go back and I would drop the whole thing. She really enjoys the shows and is looking forward to seeing Mr. Banks and Frozen.

I made a new FE for the trip with removable pockets that can be mixed and matched. Hopefully, there will be another Disney cruise in my future!

I was just checking the FE list that Kimberley sent out, and realized that my son Tyler, age 7, got cut off from the list! He is listed on the 1st page here on the disboards. Everyone may want to check the list and make sure your people are listed correctly. It's not a huge deal, but I'm afraid if only his sister gets things then he will feel bad. Perhaps I should buy some extra things for him and slip it in the FE for him? Am I worrying about it too much?

I just also noticed there are 2 versions of the FE list. He is listed on the first one that I got, so I didn't think to check the second one. It seems like the second one didn't have everything listed. I hope everyone was going by the original one.
