This is NYE, they will have party favors, champagne toast, hats, noisemakers, a special NYE bash and countdown, DJ. Also something about a gift in our staterooms. Nothing about fireworks though. Day care is open till 1 am/Teen clubs are open till 2am

NonDisney Cozumel Excursion Recommendations

We have stopped in Cozumel many, many times and when we do, we just like to relax at a beach club and do a whole lot of nothing. This link has them all listed:

On another note, just booked our plans for Cozumel...booked the Nachi Cocom Beach Club (http://www.cozumelnachicocom.com/).

They limit to 100 people so it isn't crowded. It has beach, pool, and hot tub (and other activities you can pay more for such as snorkeling, jet skis, massages). Complimentary food and drinks. $55 for myself and $35 for daughter. Friend recommended. Great reviews on Tripadviser.

Required $18 deposit. Nonrefundable except for if ship doesn't port there for some reason. $16 each way to beach and back to port.

Had a blast..I was thinking about suprising my kids w this vacation but was not sure. Has anyone done a NYE cruise on Disney before? What all do they do? Since this is a 4 night cruise is there a pirate night? I am on the fence w booking..help!!

Woohoo! Welcome. That's so great that you're bringing your grandma. As far as I know, it will be just myself and my daughter (who will be 13) in our party.

Thanks! So ksloane, you are actually going on back to back cruises? We were trying to decide between the 27th or 31st sailing and I guess one way to solve that is to just go on both! Wish that was in our budget! So do you get to stay in the same cabin the whole time or are you switching cabins?

The cruise is many months away for us so I'm not doing much other than trying to talk others into going with us. And slowly reading through threads to help me plan and jotting down useful things to pack, etc.

So for those of you who have stopped in Cozumel before, have you done any of the excursions and do you get them through Disney or get something on your own? I have only been to Cancun once - long ago, before marriage and kids. Had a lot of beach time then, as well as Mayan ruins and snorkeling. My boys (will be 15 and 12) are decent swimmers but my daughter (will be 7) will need lots of swim lessons in the next year to get to that point. Hubby is saying he might just stay on the ship in Cozumel!

Yes. We are doing back to back. I can't wait. We are just myself and my daughter and we are happy with inside staterooms making things a little easier on our budget. We'll stay in the same room for both cruises. That was what I loved when we did back 2 backs out of NYC - that transition day is so nice to not be leaving so you're not packing or unpacking and can enjoy the last day/first day.

I always book my excursions with Disney. I know that you can do them cheaper if you don't, but with Disney if we didn't make it to the port or the excursion was rained out, you don't pay. If you book on your own, then you have to worry about canceling, etc. I don't want that headache.

We just booked this when we were on this same cruise on the Magic yesterday! Wasn't sure if I could talk my husband into it because we are on the Fantasy in June. But Galveston is so close to us and who knows if Disney will ever sail out of Galveston again. For the first time in 6 cruises we aren't taking our kids. I have mixed feelings about this.

We did a NYE cruise in '09. It was incredible! I don't particularly care for NYE but this one was fun. They had the fireworks on NYE on that cruise instead of on Pirate night.
