Countdown chain?

How do you make a countdown chain? Neat idea for upcoming trip.

well here is something that you could do, cut out some paper made of mickey ears and have someone tear one each day or depends how far away it is. Just and idea.

For the ones I usually make I cut out rings with the number of days on each ring with Mickey heads. Those all link into a large Mickey head. Then I let my DS's take turns cutting the rings. I have figured out a way that works for us that keeps them from fitting over whose day it is. My DS's are a year apart in age. Who ever has an odd age gets to cut off all the odd number days, and the DS with an even age cuts off the even days. Then the last ring that attaches all the others to the Mickey head says "We're on our way to the airport", and we all cut that as a family as we head out the door to the airport. I haven't had a chance to make one for our upcoming trip, or I would post a pic. I usually would have one made by now, but this is the first trip that the DS's didn't know about. This trip is a gift from Santa.

An easy way to keep them from fighting is to use two or three different colors depending how many children. Assign each child a color to be in charge of ripping it off.

Very true. I tried that, but then there was a fight over who got purple. Now I just do them different shades of purple and since I have two for me the age thing works. However if you have more than two, or they both have either odd or even ages, the age thing wouldn't work. Another thing that would work is putting different characters on them. Like all the ones with Mickey child 1 cuts off, child 2 cuts off Minnie, child 3 cuts off Stitch.
