Couldn’t Pick Cabin I Wanted This Morning

I’m Pearl and tried to make reservations for 2 different cruises this morning right at 8am. I tried the stateroom search function at the top, but I got “this cabin is unavailable” for the 4-5 I tried on both cruises. There is no way all those cabins were scooped up at 8:01 this morning. Doesn’t that function work? How can I get the cabin I want without calling in? It would only allow me to pick from the highlighted ones.
 
October Dominican Republic and b2b 7 night San Juan and 4 night to PC in April 2027. Tried cabins 7554, 7556, 7558, 7560. I’ve tried multiple times since I booked. I’m on with the chat feature and she changed them for me- so they were available. Disney IT is frustrating!!
 
Thanks for the info. I’ll be trying to book a cruise tomorrow (Platinum CC). I wonder if I should try to book online first or go straight to chat/call.

Agreed, they definitely do not load all the rooms at opening. Usually there are a set # of them you can see as available in addition to what you were seeing (unless something has changed recently). Sometimes the best way is still to call!

You could book online as soon as you can in same stateroom category (5B or 9A and so on) and then call when lines open and change stateroom.

It may have to do with the number of guests in the room. For instance, if you need a room for 2 or 3, they won't show you the rooms that sleep 4. Same with the family rooms. They won't show rooms that sleep 5, if you don't have 5. You have to call and change the room by phone.
 
I'm dreading trying to book tomorrow when Platinum opens up. Nothing is ever easy with DCL IT--early bookings are bad but check-in is the worst! I miss pre-COVID when you could just provide all of your documentation at the port.
