Hi everyone,

I am competing on the DIS WPASADI Team for the Photography and Creative Community Boards.

The regular Community Board teams have tons of folks cheering them on and posting support for their creative entries in the DIS contest, but we specialized board folks don't get out that much and could really use a boost.

I'm still trying to figure out what it is!!! I tried to look on the community boards, but there are so many threads, and no explanation! Could someone please explain what has taken over the DIS boards?

I'm in the same boat - and I even read the official page! I looked at the contest description page when it was a banner and it made no sense to me. One big prize but the rest of it seemed confusing, and did not interest me at all.

Good luck to the photo team, I guess. If it was related to the "celebrity sightings" a few weeks ago, though, color me against it. I'm not interested in such things, thank you very much. Fortunately they didn't get much response in here.

I'd rather see Disboards work on improving their server performance and bandwidth (and especially the search functionality) rather than putting money into prizes. Just one guy's opinion... OK, I'll turn curmudgeon mode off now.

great i thought i was the only one who didn't get this...i figured it must have something to do with the survivor shows which i never watch( hearing about the first one with ugly naked guy scarred me for life) but i'm ready to cheer on the photo team if that will help

I bit my tongue when I first read the contest description. I do enough complaining about things on my own forum but I couldn't resist when reading this thread.

I hate reality TV and have never seen a single episode of "Survivor" so I'm definitely not the target audience for this contest! I will assume that the prizes are coming from sponsor bucks or donated rather than be frustrated that the "search this forum" and "search this thread" functionality are broken...

But hey, we all know if the contest was a measure of how many great people are regulars in that forum, that the PHOTOGRAPHY team would easily win. Hopefully they can do well in this one as well, even if it's Greek to me!

Let me try to explain:

The game starts out with teams who have given creative challenges and a deadline.

My first WPASADI season opened with us having to describe a dinner party with a budget and menu and entertainment. Whichever one the judges liked the best won immunity from a vote that week and the other teams showed their parties to the Community Board for folks to vote on. The team with the lowest number of votes went to individual projects (this one was a dessert tray, if I remember, with pictures). From there, those with the lowest votes were out of the game.

Next challenge: team must create a cover band, rewrite one of the songs with Disney Board references, describe the opening show, venue, costumes, as well as recast your team into the band member personalities.

Next: Describe a plot sequel to a Disney movie that hasn't had one yet. Cast DIS board personalities in some secondary roles.

Create a CSI episode built around DIS board personalities in the victim and killer roles.

Design and create the fifth WDW theme park

Then we got down to enough competitors to go to individual challenges:

Write a comedy sketch.
Create a new product for retail sale
Design a leg of the Amazing Race from your home state
Take a budget of $1,000,000 and describe how you would spend it on the DIS people who would vote you the ultimate WPASADI.


That was season 1. I was priveledged to get to host the second season and we came up with even more wicked challenges.

So here we are at Season 3, and now it's gone "Extreme" so who knows what we will be asked to create. Rest assured -- it will be lots of fun.

And we'd love your support as we try to make the Photography and Creative Community Boards proud.

me neither( well i saw a couple csi's till they showed what a bullet "saw " as it traveled through someone's body )

so i don't really get it either but that's why i didn't even try to join it...

so....
