Could we be any hotter??? Our JUNE Trip Report (Pics, Pics, Pics!)

Just finished reading your TR & I loved it! You & Ryan are such a cute couple & he is so sweet for taking all those pictures :goodvibes

Sorry about the delays in Atlanta, dh & I experienced those in March & were a day late getting to Europe :sad2:

I agree with everyone else you looked wonderful at the parks, my hair frizzes so bad in the humidity! I look forward to your make up tips :thumbsup2

Thank you so much =)

I really appreciate you reading, and I'm so glad you loved it! And don't be fooled- my hair is TOTALLY frizzy half of the time! Really, it is! I have to straiten it every morning, and the second I step outside, it frizzes--- why do I even bother fixing it anymore?????

Thanks again for reading!

I loved your Trip report Courtney. It was a great ending to a great day. I have a tribute to you in my trip report. It has been a pleasure going to Disney with you virtually! I am also looking forward to those makeup tips.

Hey girl! Thanks so much! I love my tribute in your TR! You're so sweet!!!!

I'm so happy that you've been reading along! It's been so fun having you post and read --- thanks so so much!

Courtney, thank you so much for entertaining us the past few weeks. I think most of think of you as a friend now. Great report, great pictures!:cool1:

Aren't DIS friends the best????? I've made so many friends on here!

Thank you SO much for reading, and posting! I'm so glad you've enjoyed our TR!!!! It's been fun to write!

Hey Courtney...have you ever seen this guy? My bro Billy says you are not a true Saints fan if you haven't....

Okay, seriously, that's hilarious!

You should take a trip down here--- between the CRAZY LSU fans, and the INSANE Saints fans, we see sights like this all the time.... If you ever see that an LSU or Saints game is on TV there, go watch it--- we have some quite embarrassing fans!

Makeup tips, makeup tips, makeup tips..... :rolleyes1

:):):):):):):)

Coming, coming, coming =)

You've been waiting so long--- it's next... Check my next post...

YEAHH, Courtney! I absolutely loved your trip report and like the others here I am sorry to see it end. I will be looking out for your next trippie, whenever that is!

I think your southern accent is so adorable. It isn't a drawl, but I can definitely pinpoint you as a southern belle.

Can't wait for makeup tips! I love trying new makeup ideas!

Thank you so much!!! Such nice comments! I'm so glad you've enjoyed my TR!!!! I love the support!!!!

You sound like a southern Belle to me. Love the accent (yes...you definitely have one girlfriend....and you sound adorable

What accent? =)

Thanks so much!

Courtney, thank you so much for taking the time to do such a wonderful report. I'm sorry you had so many delays getting home; I know that feeling of just wanting to be there already. The video is adorable, too! Can't wait to hear that you're planning another trip!

Denise

Hi Denise!!!

Thank you SO much for reading!!!!! You've been here from the beginning, and I really appreciate it!

I'm so glad you've enjoyed it!

Courtney,
I just found your report and read it from start to finish starting last night and then picking up this morning and finishing the rest, absolutely loved it! Could you and Ryan be a cuter couple!!!! You two look like you have so much fun together! Thanks for sharing the report with us. Stupid question time, I've been on the Animation Tour about 4 times and have NEVER seen the drawing room, we always enter into the theatre with the animator doing the thing about Mushu and then head into the room with the computers putting your voice in, see a few characters and leave, where are the drawing tables? Great Donald's by the way!
Lesley

Hi Lesley!!! I’m so glad you found my TR!!!! I’ve been sneaking peaks at yours too. But I haven’t full caught up, so I didn’t post… Yes, I’ve succumb to being a lurker! Ahh!

Okay, we entered through the animator with the Mushu thing too. And then when we walked out, I couldn’t tell you what way we turned, but it was all in that area where we walked in to the Animation studio. You’ll have to ask about it because it is SO FUN!!!! The drawing tables are actually in a separate room. There’s a little waiting area right outside of it since you have to wait for the group before you to leave. But the wait was very short. And so worth it!

I’m so glad you read my TR from start to finish, and THANK YOU for the nice comments!

PS- You have a BEAUTIFUL family!

Only on page 11 but wanted to sbscribe.

Actually the title caught my eye.....we just got back 2 days ago and NO! It could not have been hotter!

Great TR Courtney! I am also from Louisiana (Slidell) and I went to LSU also before graduating from Southeastern.

Have you caught up yet?

Yay! Go Louisiana!!!! So glad you’re here reading!

Great Trip Report Courtney, Loved it and enjoyed the pictures of you and Ryan. Sorry to see it end. But will see you on the Disers threads.

Thanks so much for reading it till the end! Yes, I’ll definitely be on the stalking thread!

Hi Courtney!

Just want to say again that I truly enjoyed your TR! It was like getting to know you from beginning to end (well it's not over yet....), and you are a genuinely nice person.

On the accent thing, yes, to me you have one. But don't we all? I think the only people I have not noticed an accent in were west coast people. And I never thought I had one until my best friend moved to Birmingham, Alabama 12 years ago. After she lived there a few years she started noticing my midwestern accent, and I could hear that she had started getting a southern accent. And most recently she and her daughter came back to WI to attend Summerfest(shout out to the biggest 2 week music festival in the States!) in Milwaukee. I asked her daughter if I said certain words that sounded weird to her and she said yes. I asked her which ones and she said "all of them"! So there ya have it.

Looking forward to you next installment! Thanks so much for sharing!:thumbsup2

Thank you so much for reading! I’m so excited that you loved it!!! It was really fun to write and read all of the comments!

And so funny that “all” of your words sound funny!!!! Hahahaha! Yes, I think we all do have accents =)

I can't believe I didn't start reading this until today and just missed the actual "live" report. As proof of how much I enjoyed the report I started and finished it all in one day, much to the chagrin of my children (now I guess I'll have to go make them lunch).

Great report, you guys seemed to really enjoy your trip and each other, it's really nice to see. The pictures were great, by far my favorite part.:thumbsup2

Hopefully we'll see another report out of you.

You totally didn’t miss much of the live report… B/c it’s still live!

I’m so excited that you read all of my TR from start to finish at the expense of your kids =) I’m sure they’ll forgive you--- it’s all for the DIS!!!!

Hahaha!

Thank you so much for reading, and posting! I’m really glad to see you here!

No accent that I can hear.....;) I sound just like that myself. LOL!

I think SF checked back into the Poly in the room next to mine last week. They woke us up at 2am laughing and talking and watching TV. I'm not as nice as you cause I called front desk and got someone sent up pronto!:rolleyes1

Oh, no! Not the S.F. again!!!!! I totally should have called the front desk—I think that would have helped--- maybe. They were awful!

But I hope your trip was good anyway! And I hope they hushed up after you fussed them!!!!

Hey Court..me again...I was just doing some online shopping at the Bombay Company and I noticed that your bed looks like one that they have, is it? Do you like it and do you find that the quality is good? That's all! Look foward to those makeup tips!!!

YES, That’s my bed!!!! So funny! The quality is GREAT!!!! My poor bed as been set up, taken down, moved, set up, taken down, moved, set up, taken down, moved, set up, taken down, moved, set up, taken down, moved, set up… Yes, that’s 6 (SIX!) times! And it’s held up FABULOUSLY!!!! I would totally recommend it!

Just wanted to say that I loved the whole report and the video is so cute. It is so fitting that you have such an adorable accent to go with such an adorable person and couple. great trip report.:thumbsup2

Aww—thank you so much!!!! I really appreciate it.

I’m so glad you enjoyed the report- thank you so much for reading all along and for your posts! It’s been great having you here!

Courtney, this was such a fun report to read. I really liked the pictures and the video! You did a great job and I am glad you had a magical trip. :thumbsup2

The link to your business won't open for me. :confused3

Thank you so much!!! I’m so glad you liked reading my TR and looking at all of the pictures! There were definitely a lot of them!

The link was posted with a parenthesis at the end of it since I was closing out an earlier quote…

You should come and visit someday... You'd like it where I am from...Cape Breton Island (in Nova Scotia, east coast of Canada) is beautiful in the summer time and fall as well, as the leaves change color--it's just beautiful. A lot of people that visit from around the world say they just love it...we are surrounded by trees and lots of green :rolleyes1 (but we are not in the country...:lmao: we have a walmart and home depot and a mall(which is expanding...lol....) we also have restuarants....:rotfl2: Anyways, that's my pitch on good 'ol Cape Breton where I am from...it's a nice place to come and relax :hippie:

Chloe Marie..oh happy day!!!

Sounds so nice!!! Hope it was fun for you!

Ohh--- Chloe Marie—what a beautiful name!

Courtney, I must say I've really enjoyed your TR. I am sad it's over now. It's like the end of a good book when ou know there has GOT to be a sequal, but it says nothing about a sequal. You are going to have to do something! Take care and have a great SUnday yourself!!!

Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed reading my TR! Thank you very much! Aww--- I know, so sad that there’s no sequel, huh??? But hey, I am going to the beach on Thursday! That could make for a fun continuation…

Okay so I finally finished your trip report and it was so much fun to read. You guys are such a cute couple. We go back to Disney in September for a little last minute trip. We usually go in January but we found out we will be having baby #4! SURPRISE! So I told my husband I need a disney fix before the baby comes. I mean four in Disney sounds much harder then three to me. I can't wait for the make up tips your make up always looks perfect I always have a hard time keeping mine on my face. I can only hear a very small accent and it is too cute. I can't wait to read more!

I’m so glad you enjoyed reading my TR!!! Oh, my, you are going to have so much fun in September!!!! That’s going to be here so soon!!! Yay for you!

And CONGRATS on Baby #4!!!! I think that’s so exciting!!!!! And yes, you definitely need a Disney fix before that little one arrives!!!! I’m sure your three will be big helpers with the new arrival! So much fun!!!!

Is it a boy or girl, do you know? Any names picked out???

Hi Courtney,
That is a great buisness idea you have going. Do you make a lot?
I will have to share the site with friends who have dogs.
I love all of them oufits you make for little dogs. I really need to get me a little dog! I don't think you have anythign for mine~

Waiting for make-up tips!

Oh, my goodness—your dogs are beautiful!!!!! What a gorgeous picture!

I do make a lot of clothes--- I get several orders each month- just enough to where I’m not too busy, but I’m busy enough.

Please do, spread the word! I can customize anything for any dog!!!

Hey Courtney!
Hope your Sunday was as nice as ours! After church we went to the Dell store and bought TWO laptops.. woo hoo! Dana's all set for high school now, and I can DIS in the same room while Bob watches ESPN! :cool1: I'm excited because we'll be able to take it on vacation with us, too. I'm so lost without my internet and email!! :surfweb:

Came home and spent the afternoon lazy by the pool! Didn't even cook - called for salad and pizza.
Bob & Dana are off to pick up coffee & ice cream... I'm going back to sit by the pool.... Boy, I LOVE the summer!!:cool2:

Sent some emails to you... thought you might enjoy them!
ps: Dana can't wait for the "makeup tips"! ;)
Renée

Jealous of your Sunday!!! Sounds SO fun! Yes, I LOVED the emails!!!! But I wrote you back already, so you knew that =)

I dont know if I should ask or not since you are a saints fan. But do you make Bears clothes? Our Malti Poo loves to watch Bears games with me on the couch, :happytv: he will even bark when I am cheering for the game. Sorry that we beat you in the playoffs. :)

Yes, yes, yes!!!! I love to make different outfits for other teams!!!! It gives me more to display on my site! I’ve made USC outfits, Dallas Cowboys, etc. And a bunch of customized things, “Go Marc” , etc… And dog’s names on their back, etc.

Yes, let me know if you want more info! You can email me or PM me.

Yeah, I hated that playoff game! It was bad for us, but great for yall =)

so courtney, how was your sunday?
Hope it was nice and relaxing just like a
disney trip!!:lmao: Need a vacation after
the vacation but it is ever so worth it!!!!;)

It was a nice Sunday. Not as relaxing as I would have liked b/c I was very busy, but it was still nice!!! How was yours???

Disney trips are anything but relaxing, aren’t they =)

I am all caught up Courtney. Great TR! Sounds like you and Ryan had so much fun! We had a great time too inspite of SF. They either checked out or started to mind their manners after I called the front desk because we never heard another peep from them!:cool1:

Do you know where Dehnam Springs is? I graduated from there in the late 80s.

~Allyson

Hi Lori! Isn't Paula Deen the cutest? I love her accent! And her food! Yummo!

Paula Deen has a great accent! We met her in person last year... she was in New Jersey at a home show. Just adorable in person, but she didn't do any of the actual "cooking", she had lots of assistants! ;)
She did a Q & A session, and picked Dana for one of the questions..
Dana stood and asked, "How old were you when you started to cook?" and she said, "Sugar, I was 17 - Just you remember, fine age for you to start to cook, but TOO YOUNG FOR YOU TO GET MARRIED!" :rotfl:
Renée

Mine was very nice courtney(sunday). Its a lot of fun
watching chloe change and grow. Can't wait till I can take
her to meet the mouse and friends!:cutie:

My weekend went well thank you! I went into NYC to drop my nephew off at my aunt's house. It was a bit sad :sad2: since he had been with us for the past 3 weeks. But he has to return to my sis in FL to get ready for school.

Sunday was spent running errands and such. And reading my Unoffical Guide to WDW!! WOOHOO!!!!:cool1:

Glad your weekend went well! Much anticipating those make up tips! Will log back on later to check them out!

I did it for a living in College.....but now it's just something fun for the Kids!!!!!
& yes it's a Blast!!!!

:cool2:

Hey there friends!!!!

So, the long awaited makeup tips are HERE!!!!

First of all, let me say that what I do to my face may not be what you should do to your face!

I put makeup on my friend (it was her makeup, not mine) the exact same way I do mine, and she looked like a street corner girl! If you know what I mean…

It just wasn’t flattering on her… But if you can take away a few tips, then that’s GREAT! And know, I am totally NOT the makeup expert- I will claim only to love makeup, and have experimented with it in the past, and I think to have found what works best for my face, features, skin tone, etc.

With that said, here we go!

Step 1: Get a GREAT Makeup Bag!!!!

CIMG1106.jpg

Step 2: Prime Your Face
• Wash—always wash morning and night! Doesn’t matter what you use, as long as it works for your skin. Never sleep with your makeup on! Your face needs to breathe.
• After washing, use cover up for the blemishes and other inconsistent spots on your face.
o Personally, I use NYC Color--- the cheapest ever! I think I got it from Walgreens or CVS. The color is “Light” and it’s a cover stick.
• After covering the blemishes, I use under eye concealer for my dark circles. Yes, I get a lot of sleep, but they are hereditary. I have always had them, I always will.
o For this, I use Merle Norman Cover Up in “Warm Light”
o I put it on my finger, rub onto undereye and “rub in” softly with a makeup sponge.
• Then, I use a Mary Kay Oil Mattifier for my nose… It helps control the shine!
• After your face is balanced in color and mattified, apply powder. Here’s where some people use base. I don’t. I know it’s good for you if you have an SPF in it, but I find it makes my face look really thick (therefore sweaty and makeup runs because your face isn’t breathing) and it’s really hard to match your skin. Because it’s so hard to match your skin, you often see a base line on ladies around the neck and jaw line.
o The powder I use is EXCELLENT. It’s Merle Norman color “Ultra Golden” (LUXIVA® Ultra Powder Foundation is the official name). It’s not too thick, but just thick enough to not wear base. Here’s the description from their website:
o “Dual-function formula performs as a foundation and powder. Oil-absorbing pressed-powder makeup is great for oily skin and ideal for humid climates. Sheer to maximum coverage. Matte finish.”
o I think no base was the key to me not appearing to sweat in Disney (b/c trust me, I was sweating!)

CIMG1108.jpg

Step 3: Add Color
• Since we’ve basically, to this point, made our face all one color, we need to “add a little life” to our beautiful cheeks!
• First thing, I use a bronzer. LOVE the bronzer!
o For this, I use Mary Kay “Bronze Highlighting Powder”. This stuff is WONDERFUL! I love it! I use it on my cheeks, nose, and forehead. Just for a little color.
• Then, I add blush.
o The color I’m currently using (and did in Disney) was “tender rose” from Loreal- true match.
o Depending on the color of my hair, I change blush colors. So, since I’m getting my hair done in two weeks (still deciding what to do with it), the color may change =)

CIMG1111.jpg

Step 4: Eyes!
• Love this part! First, we are going to add our shadow. You typically want to use a highlighter and then an accent. I do the highlighter first.
• The highlighter is applied directly under the eyebrow and into the inner corner of the eye (corner closest to the nose). Leave the part of your lid on top of the eye without color for now.
o The color that I love for the highlighter is Cover Girl “pink chfn”.
• Then, we need to apply our accent color(s). These are placed toward the outer corner of the eye (everywhere on the lid where you didn’t place the highlighter). You want to use a nice brush (not a sponge brush—an actual angled makeup brush), and make your strokes go upward when applying, toward the outer ridge of your eye (think cat eyes).
o The first color I use is Mary Kay’s “Virtual Violet”.
o Then I cover that with Mary Kay’s “Storm”
o Both are very dark, but I need that on my face. Light colors do not show up on me.
o Tip: If you hold a Kleenex under your bottom lid, it will catch all of the eyeshadow particles that fall from the brush. Since you’re already applied your cheeks, you don’t want to have to re-do them!
• Then, we are going to re-apply the highlighter to smooth out everything. Apply it only in the area beneath the brow and above the accent color that you just applied. I, again, use the Cover Girl in “Pink Chfn”.
• Then, to give you a little depth, we add another highlighter to the inner corner of the eye, over where we put the first highlighter.
o The color I use for this is Mary Kay “Spun Silk”.
• Next up—eyeliner. I’m an eyeliner junkie. I put it on both lids, top and bottom, pretty much all the way around. In the inner corners, you don’t want it too thick, but very very thinly, I make them meet.
o The color for this is, by far, the BEST eyeliner I have ever found—Mary Kay’s “Sable”. I just found out they are discontinuing this color, but it’s a dark brown. They should have an equivalent color coming out, but as long as it’s dark brown, I’m fine with it.
• Now, the hardest part--- the mascara. This takes me the longest to do, and I dread it!
o I use about five coats on each eye. Basic old, Wal-Mart, Maybeline brand… Curved brush, pink tube, color = blackest black. Top lashes only.
o I go back and forth between eyes as to let the first coat dry a little before applying more.
o For the bottom lashes, use WATERPROOF!!! That’s the key to NO running mascara eyes! Same thing- Maybeline, black, but WATERPROOF! It’s great!

CIMG1113.jpg

Step 5: Finish it Off
• To finish off the eyes, I have a brow tamer. I have no idea what the official name for this is, but it keeps your brows in place. It looks like a mascara wand. And actually, I ran out of the actual tamer stuff, so I just use the wand, wet it, spray hairspray on it, and brush it over my eyebrows to help keep them in place! Works like a charm most of the time.
• To finish off the face, we gotta do LIPS!
o With such heavy makeup on the eyes, I like to downplay the lips. So, I usually use a light gloss, either with a goldish hue, or just a clear shine. Favorites right now include:
o Milani (also from Walgreens/CVS) in “Secret”
o NYC in “Cappuccino”--- now this one can come out awful metallic. I usually apply a chap stick on before and then apply this gloss- just a little of it goes a long way!
o I also picked up some samples from Merle Norman and I liked “Razzle Dazzle”--- Sometimes the entire tube is different from the sample, but I liked the sample! I topped it with “Sugar Coated” from Merle Norman.

CIMG1114.jpg

Now, you’re done! On your way to a “deceiving all of your DIS friends that you really weren’t sweating when you were” makeup face!

Wow!!! Cape Breton Island sounds AMAZING!!!!!! I would LOVE to go there some day! You sold me on it! Sounds wonderful and beautiful!

I think the puppies look cute in their clothing too!!!! It’s so funny!

Plan will be announced soon =)

Here are some pictures of my good 'ol Island :)

:cool2:

Wow thanks Courtney, you are amazingly thorough! I will have to go and get some of the powder to play around with.

OK... Make-up talk brought this girly-girl out of lurkdom! Thanks so much for your trip report. You were so sweet to take the effort to put together all of those make-up tips.

After reading, I went on to the Mary Kay website to look into ordering the oil stopper stuff for your nose. (So awesome for summer!) Anyway, I noticed on their website that they're looking for entries for the MaryKay "Model of Beauty" right now. You should totally enter!

Disers, don't you think Courtney could win!? :cutie:

Thanks again!

Oh, that is a GREAT IDEA!!!!!

Ok, Courtney, I love you and I love your look, but those are WAY TOO MANY STEPS for little ole me. :lmao: I guess I am doomed to a life of semi-beauty. :rotfl:

No more Merle Normans around here. :sad1: I used to love their products.

Didn't know you could buy Mary Kay online - I only knew it by the pushy sales reps. lol

Lancome makes a great powder also - sounds similar to what you use. If you dampen the sponge it goes on like foundation, but I just wear it dry.

And, I totally agree that Maybelline Great Lash in the pink bottle is amazing. Started using Lancome, but will go back to the Great Lash. Can't beat the price! lol

I thought you were going to actually make a video of the steps... :goodvibes

Renée

i love these tr's! i learn so much and i cant wait for my trip to WDW with DH DD8 and DD6! Just 22 more days to go!!!:cool1: The girls have no idea about the trip. DH and I are going to tell them when we get to the airport. So much fun! Well, back to reading now!
