Could this be our last trip to the World for awhile...Final Plans 9/11

Welcome all...old and new friends.

I swore I would never do two reports at a time again, but it dawned on me that our trip is 69 days away; we leave for Vegas in 19 days; we have to help Andy and Des move into their new place when we get back; then we go to Dubuque for a long weekend and then it's Labor Day and the kids are here for the long weekend and then it is a week before our trip. So I figured I'd better at least get this started.

And that is EXACTLY why I started the DL 1/2 one! Well that and it was way too much running chatter clogging up the current one.

Mark -- the man who got me to fall in love with Disney and him...31 years and counting. Mark currently is unemployed after being let go about a month ago from his job (still dealing with that whole situation of trying to get a better severance package, etc.). He is doing a lot more baseball than ever now that he's not working and loving every minute of it

I know this will be a blessing in the long run, it's a horrible situation. I am glad at least that the severance question and whether to pursue age discrimination is settled, now Mark (and you) can move on and hopefully really enjoy this trip.

Glad to see Kona and Olivia's made the cut!

Your comment about not wanting to look at the clown pool cracks me up!

We have to figure out a way to hook up, I think the 19th is our only option so you'll have to keep me posted with what you two are up to! Hopefully we can figure out something in the evening not in a park :goodvibes

And then we have Mark, 26 years old, an assistant wrestling coach at Loras College and works for a huge financial company and his wife of one year, Alisha, who is 23 years old who works at Mark's old company and is also a part-time CNA at a nursing home in Dubuque

I had no idea that Alisha works at Mark's old company. UGH!

We are for the first time dining at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast to see Alice, the Mad Hatter, Pooh and Tigger (especially Tigger).

I've never done this one but would like to try it one of these days. No
After breakfast, back in the car and we will drive to Downtown Disney to do some shopping. I never got the kids their ornament for their wedding so I want to get that an get it engraved with their wedding date on it. I'm sure we'll spend plenty of time at Basin, World of Disney, Goofy's Candy, etc.

We hope to have all of those done before we head to World Showcase where we have a 7:05 p.m. dinner ADR at:

where Mark is dying to have this again:

YUM!

All caught up...

Sounds like a great and relaxing first few days. Nice to take advantage of such a beautiful resort and watch the animals and swim.

I have never been to Kona, going in Sept. I can't wait to try that coffee or two! :hyper:

We have a ADR for Via Napoli this time in Epcot. Never been and wanted to try. We went to Rose & Crown last year... yummy

Can't wait to hear about your Dismeet...

What great plans! I hope you like 1900 PF for breakfast. It is one of my favorites. :goodvibes

I will Ann. I remember it's one of your favorites and the reason I picked it.

I'm here! The plans sound great so far. I love both AKL and the Boardwalk, so you've got some great resorts planned for this trip.

:yay::yay: Danielle is here. I'm happy with our report choices too; we probably would have done OKW over BWV, but I just spent 8 nights there, so BWV won.

While I'm unhappy that the severance for Mark's job was so horrible, at least you have some of that stress put to the side.

Yes; we've put it behind us and are moving on.

And that is EXACTLY why I started the DL 1/2 one! Well that and it was way too much running chatter clogging up the current one.

Totally understand.

I know this will be a blessing in the long run, it's a horrible situation. I am glad at least that the severance question and whether to pursue age discrimination is settled, now Mark (and you) can move on and hopefully really enjoy this trip.

Thanks, Cynthia. We will enjoy this trip (as well as Vegas in 11 days).

Glad to see Kona and Olivia's made the cut!

Absolutely; I cancelled Via Napoli for Olivia's.

Your comment about not wanting to look at the clown pool cracks me up!

Sorry...but that thing scares the you know what out of me.

We have to figure out a way to hook up, I think the 19th is our only option so you'll have to keep me posted with what you two are up to! Hopefully we can figure out something in the evening not in a park :goodvibes

If we have to meet you at a park, we will; we have our AP's. We are not missing the opportunity to see you and Jeff.

I had no idea that Alisha works at Mark's old company. UGH!

No, Mark as in HER husband, not my husband. That's why I've always called him Markie to distinguish between them...but he's a married man now and I felt weird calling him Markie.

I've never done this one but would like to try it one of these days.

Ann loves it so I'm taking her word that it's good.

YUM!

We really like Rose & Crown and Mark really likes that Scotch Egg.

All caught up...

I'm glad. :)

Sounds like a great and relaxing first few days. Nice to take advantage of such a beautiful resort and watch the animals and swim.

When we decided to do the split stay, we knew we'd want to spend a lot of time at the AKL.

I have never been to Kona, going in Sept. I can't wait to try that coffee or two! :hyper:

Are you going for breakfast or dinner?

We have a ADR for Via Napoli this time in Epcot. Never been and wanted to try. We went to Rose & Crown last year... yummy

I had Via Napoli, but cancelled it. I have some issues with pizza and red sauces, so decided to go back to Olivia's which we love.

Can't wait to hear about your Dismeet...

It's going to be a great one!

Today we will be switching resorts. We will eat breakfast in our room and then head over to

We know our room won't be ready as it will be around 8 a.m. But we will park the car and then walk over to

We are in for a VERY special DIS meet. I met this guy here on the DIS several years ago when he was on the CSR thread a lot as they were staying there and I was on it and then ran it for awhile. He and his wife had one daughter at the time. Now, two more children later, we are finally meeting.
We have become great internet friends and we are so looking forward to meeting Tim, Mel, Juliana, Christopher and Gabriella (that's nice here on the DIS).

This picture is of the family, minus Gabriella (she hadn't made her appearance yet) and Tim's Mom is in the picture:

(Tim...hope you don't mind me borrowing your pic; I figured it was better than scaring away the new readers with the "whip" picture)

We hope to visit for a few minutes and get acquainted with the kids because the next day we will be spending the whole morning with them.

Mark and I plan on getting FP+ for

And also Rock & Roll Roller Coaster. We will do a few more things at the Studios and then head to the Beach Club for our lunch ADR here:

Beaches and Cream...love that place.

We will head back to the Boardwalk after that as our room should be ready and we will unpack. After that, we plan to walk over to Epcot. This will be the first time we have ever done Food & Wine and we want to graze a few booths this evening.

Up next, a special breakfast with our DIS friends

You are an updating machine!

Yay for a Dis meet with Tim and family! I've loved seeing their family grow over the last few years.

Jill in CO

Wow, what a great DIS meet. I ready Tim's early TR's with Juliana, she is such a cutie. And I just read through the last TR with Christopher. I guess that means I'll be reading two TR's about this meet. :goodvibes

Beaches and Cream, YUM-O! We had dessert there on our first family trip -it was one of my boys favorite memories and this is in our plans for a meal in December. My kids are very excited!

Plus F&W (I've never gone), but man sounds like you are gonna have a pretty amazing day :thumbsup2

Another great day- Even though it is moving day from your giraffes.

Meeting Tim ( finally ) and some DHS time.

Kona: We are going for Breakfast on Sept 23rd :)

Sounds like a great day, it would be so great to be able to walk to two out of the four parks instead of waiting on disney transportation. Great DisMeet!!

We are going to Beaches & Cream for supper on the 22nd since this is our arrival day. We have never been but heard a lot of good things so I am excited.

So why do you like staying at Boardwalk better then Beach Club? I am asking just to make notes for next year when it's just DH & I going.

All caught up!

This may sound silly, but is that photo of the scotch egg at Rose and Crown an entree? My husband has a very hearty appetite and he could probably eat three plates that size. I generally have to find restaurants with decent sized portions for him.

I'm with you on Mission Space. The last time I rode that, I had a headache and was nauseous the rest of the day.

Such a nice picture from Beaches and Cream! That was from Mark's 60th Birthday trip report, correct?

I'll be interested to hear about Boardwalk. We're kicking around Beach or Yacht Club for 2015.

Sadly, this will be my first year missing Food and Wine in several years. Have the ravioli and Italian Margarita in Italy for me!

Today we will be switching resorts.

We know our room won't be ready as it will be around 8 a.m.
But will it be ready by 4pm????? I'm sure ours won't be on Sunday. :lmao:

We are in for a VERY special DIS meet.
popcorn::

I met this guy here on the DIS several years ago…..
Oooooooooooh….. does Mark know? :rolleyes1

when he was on the CSR thread a lot as they were staying there and I was on it and then ran it for awhile. He and his wife had one daughter at the time.
…and you dubbed Juliana the official CSR girl. You might have the pic somewhere….. I can't find it. :sad2:

EDIT… Found it

Now, two more CRAZY children later,
fixed!

we are finally meeting.
::yes::

We have become great internet friends and we are so looking forward to meeting Tim, Mel, Juliana, Christopher and Gabriella (that's nice here on the DIS).
We are looking forward to meeting you and Mark too!!!!

This picture is of the family, minus Gabriella (she hadn't made her appearance yet) and Tim's Mom is in the picture:

Hey I know those people!

Here is an 'updated' Disney picture including Gabby.

(Tim...hope you don't mind me borrowing your pic; I figured it was better than scaring away the new readers with the "whip" picture)
Listen, when have you refrained from showing the whip picture? It doesn't take much for you to whip it out.

Mark and I plan on getting FP+ for

And also Rock & Roll Roller Coaster.
We are going to try to FP the same things and hopefully fit in Star Tours too.
Beaches and Cream...love that place.
I tried to get a dinner ADR there on Sunday but it was all booked up. :crazy2:

We will head back to the Boardwalk after that as our room should be ready and we will unpack. After that, we plan to walk over to Epcot. This will be the first time we have ever done Food & Wine and we want to graze a few booths this evening.
We are going to head to MK to catch Wishes… it most likely will be our only chance.

Up next, a special breakfast with our DIS friends
:coffee:

Kathy was one of the first people I interacted with here on the DIS back in 2008. She answered all my CSR questions and persuaded me to stay at CSR. Now look at her- she is a DVC villa snob! :rotfl:

My First DIS post!

I just want to let everyone know how generous Kathy is. She sends the kids gifts for holidays, ever forgets their birthdays, and sends them books, stickers, etc. Thank you to you and Mark for all that you do for the kids. We really appreciate it. I can't wait till she has grandkids so she can spoil them and stop spoiling mine. :lmao:

Looks like a fun day you have planned!

I also love Beaches and Cream; I am glad they started letting you make dining reservations there, no more camping out by the hostess stand right at 11AM to see if you can get in! :cool1:

Wow, so much fun in store for you guys!

I read Tim's (first) trip report I think. It sounds like you guys are going to have a great time together!

I have never eaten at Rose & Crown - I will have to add that to our bucket list of Disney restaurants. Same for Beaches & Cream! I'm hoping that once Rory is older (and hopefully outgrows his dairy allergy), we can take down a Kitchen Sink together.

…and you dubbed Juliana the official CSR girl. You might have the pic somewhere….. I can't find it. :sad2:

I will respond to everyone else and the rest of Tim's post later. I can't find the hammock picture, but I found this one. My "official CSR girl"

Finally caught up! I take a few days off and I get so far behind! Love your plans so far. They seem so relaxed! Easy mornings and park time at night sounds perfect! It can be so hot down there in Sept so these plans really look great!

1900 Park Faire is one of my FAVORITES at Disney! The sticky rolls with nuts (not sure if they are almonds, pecans, etc) are the BEST! My friend and I were talking about "the rules" with her new bf, and one of the main rules is 1900 PF is "Our" place and we can't go there if the other is not with us. She and her bf are planning a trip there so we had to fill him in.

Yay for getting to meet Tim and family! I know how long you all have been trying to coordinate this!

Your next couple of days look wonderful. Not sure I would be able to keep myself from hitting the food booths if I was in Epcot and F&W was in full swing! :rotfl:

Boardwalk! Can't wait to see your photos from here.

 for a Dis Meet!

ToT, TSM and RnC my favorites in MGM! Sounds like a great start. We have yet to eat at Beaches & Cream but, we are going to change that in December. We are surprising DS13 when we go...going to get the Kitchen Sink. ;)

The DIS meet sounds wonderful! I'm sure y'all will have a great time! You can spoil the kids in person now. :rotfl:
