Could someone with a Disney Visa book a free dining package for someone without one?

I don't have a Disney Visa, but my parents do, so could they book the free dining package for me, listing just me and my Dh and kids as the people occupying the room? In other words, can a Disney Visa card holder book the free dining package for someone else, without the card holder going on the trip? I am addicted to free dining, I don't have the Visa and I didn't get a pin code, but I MUST find a way to go! I'm afraid if I apply for the Visa, by the time it arrives, all the rooms will be booked!!

What are your thoughts?

Not sure, but I would love to know the answer to this also. My sister and her hubby are now joining us on our trip and we're going to book their ressie tomorrow - but can I book hers with my Visa for the FD code? We'll be arriving via different flights/times to check in, so big question is CAN she check in if I did the ressie? Me and kids will already be in MK!:) Can I check her in when I check in so all she has to do is show up at checkin and it's already done for her, just pick up her room key and all?

Just wondered if I can do this, and she'll be able to check in w/o me there, since it would basically me under my name booking a second room, with them listed as the guests of that room.

(sorry, didn't mean to hijack!)

If you apply for one on line, they approve you and pretty much the next day you can use it online at disney travel site

You can use someone else's card. We did it last fall when the Disney free dining package came out. We had 4 families going, and each booked our package with one family member's card. It was no problem at all. I told the CM that my name was not on the card. It went thru just fine. I guess you just have to trust that whoever uses your card will pay the bills. I have since gotten my own Disney Visa, and used it to book the new free dining package.

I'm on the phone with me now and actually in the processing of doing this for our friends. So the answer seems to be yes.

Can't hurt to try. Last year, although not a Disney Visa discount, I did book 2 reservations on my Disney card to get the zero interest. I had no problem but I was also going. I don't know for sure if you can when it's a code and the person's not going. If you have a problem since it's not your card, maybe your mom could book it and just say it's a gift or something. Most places want the holder to at least make the purchase. Just a thought.

I applied online, was instantly approved, but can't use the code to book online. I have asked at least 5 Disney reps. They all said I have to wait until I get my card to have my account # and book on the phone with the free dining code.

You can get free dining with a new Visa account if you book a package as soon as you are approved for you new Visa account.

Just book a package as soon as you are approved (don't close the browser window). If you don't close the window you can pay or deposit using your new disney account.

There is no selection for "free dining" while you are booking the package.

What you do is book a regular package, pay/deposit using the Disney Visa and then call them to get the free dining added. They will see that you paid using your new account and the discount will be available to you. If you close the browser window, you might not have access to your account until the new card arrives, but if you book the package right after being approved, your Disney Visa will show up as an option during the booking payment process.

Hope the info helps. Now where did I leave that ship?

Ooooh, this sounds like the answer! However, I have called Disney Dining to check on restaurant availability during the time I want to go, and it is not looking good!!! If I can find enough places to eat, I will give PirateJack's method a shot! Thanks to everyone who replied! If anyone else has pertinent info, please post too!
