eventually i will get my 70-200 f4 fixed but so far the estimates from good old canon factory repair have gone from $100 to $185 to $300 (" or maybe more" as the very polite csr told me ,I'm thinking evidently canon doesn't comprehend that most estimates are at least in the ballpark of the actual amount) ..so how i think i will have to find someone else to fix it and maybe some leprechaun's pot of gold as well.
so trying to decide if i should get the 55 until i can afford to get it fixed. but would like to see some crops since that is where i really notice the softness on my 28-135. course with 250mm i couldn't need to crop as much. if my 100 mm comes back fixed even with the converter it would only be 140 and i really need something more than that. i was considering the 55 anyway just due to some days is would help with shaky hands
