My right side like over and below my belly button has been hurting all day. When I suck in my stomach it hurts, when I push on it it hurts...it just hurts...lol. Nothing severe just pain. My temp is 99.2 so not that high.....I thought maybe gas pains? I don't know...I would feel like an idiot going to the Dr. with gas pains. Has anyone had appendicites and what did you feel?

I had appendicitis when I was 16 and the pain was awful. It was so sharp that I couldn't lay still. Very localized pain in the lower right quadrant. I was also sick to my stomach and threw up and had a fever.

It's better to be safe than sorry, a ruptured appendix can be fatal.

The pain I had started like that during the day. By 3AM I would have smacked my head against the wall to get rid of the pain. I did not have a high temp and when the doctor saw me the next day they thought it could have been cysts. As they were staring the surgery it burst and it wasn't cysts. I think that may be a genetic thing though. My Dad and cousin all had the same thing happen at the same age...how wierd is that?

My BIL had appendicitise and he was very sick.vomiting and just very sick and hurting Very Very Bad.we were on a cruise and they had to take him off the ship and take him to a local hospital and do surgery on him,we had to leave him and his wife there and then htey flew home after they released him.that vacation will never be forgotten.they said if he had of waited another few hours he would have been in serious trouble.Please if it is still hurting tomorrow or you start getting sick Please go to your Dr, or the ER.

Beth, go for a walk to help the gas pains, if that's it. If it gets too bad, get yourself to the hospital.

Hmm, doesn't sound like appendicitis to me, based on what you said.

What Are the Symptoms of Appendicitis?
The classic symptoms of appendicitis are abdominal pain and loss of appetite. Abdominal pain usually begins in the center of the abdomen, around the area of the navel. Later, the pain may move downward and to the right, to an area called McBurney's point, which roughly corresponds to the location of the appendix in the lower right portion of the abdomen.

After abdominal pain begins, a person with appendicitis may develop a slight fever, lose his appetite, feel nauseated, and vomit. The fact that abdominal pain begins before nausea and vomiting, rather than after, is one clue that the problem might be appendicitis rather than a gastrointestinal infection.

Of course if you have any doubt at all go see a doctor.

LOL, Jason.:p

Beth, could it be ovarian pain? You need to go to your dr tomorrow to find out. Unless the pain is very intense tonight, then I'd go to the ER tonight. {{hugs}} I hope you get to feeling better.

Jason I actually did that, the pain didn't stop.

Shannon, its not severe enough just really bothersome. I probably will go in tomorrow though if it doesn't stop. {{hugs}}

Sure hope you feel better soon. I remember having a very similar pain and the man I was dating back then was a nurse. He, too, thought appendicitis....turned out to be a kidney stone.

Go get it checked if you aren't better tomorrow :)

Beth, have your doctor check to see if you have kidney stones. When I first was diagnosed with mine, I didn't have severe pain, just nagging pain. That happens when the stone is just lodged in the kidney somewhere. A simple x-ray will tell if its a kidney stone or not (and its often mistaken for gas pain).

Sorry everyone! I did finally go to the Dr. yesterday and thank goodness it was not my appendix. I have a super bad sinus infection and the Dr. says all the yucky stuff has gone down into my stomach and is causing the cramps and sick feeling. I am on antibiotics and have pain meds if I need them. I slept pretty much all day today but finally feel much better except for a slight sinus headache.
