So glad you are feeling better! I hate dealing with appendix.
Get a load of this. This shows all the different "faces" of appendicitis, so never assume......
1. My moms burst when she was in labor with me, they never knew, after many weeks they figured it out and it took her a year to recover!
2. I had a stomachache one day, didn't feel good, the pain was just all over in my stomach, no fever. My husband finally took me to the emergancy room where they drew blood and saw my white blood cells elevated, went in right away for removal!
3. 6 months later, my son was sick with the classic symptoms. Pain in the lower right quantrant and a fever. His was removed that night.
4. My other son had on and off stomach pains and fevers. Went back and forth to the Doctors, but nothing developed. After 4 days, his stomach pain was gone and he had no fever. Went to school, felt fine all day and then that night...yep, you guessed it, emengancy surgery to remove his appendix.
5. Had another son ( have 4 by the way) that followed suit as the one before, off and on pain. They ended up admitting him because the surgeon knew he'd be performing the surgery that night. Ended up, nothing transpired, didn't have surgery and he's never had any more problems.
6. My last one has on and off problems for a couple of years now. If I call about his pain, they just have me go see the surgeon. I can't tell you how many times they've figured they would be doing surgery, but then in goes away (apparently it's irritable...). The surgeon figures it's just a matter of time.
So, the moral of this story is you just never know! Please don't just go by classic symptoms!
Oh and also, if anyone says that appendicitis isn't hereditary, just send them to this post! LOL
