We need to request a cot at the AKL for our DD who will be 16 months old.

Has anyone used a cot there before? Are they OK, clean etc...? It'll be the first time I've requested a cot before as we've always taken samsonite pop up cot!

I read somewhere that the room can get a little squashed when cot is in room, is this correct?

For a 16 month old, I would recommend using a pack and play that they have. They seem to take up less room. We used them for our kids until they were around 2.5 or so.

I think the OP is not a US citizen, I am from the UK and we call a crib a cot, however i know that in the US a cot is a rollaway bed type thing, so i presume the OP is asking about a crib as opposed to a cot

To answer the question we had a pack and play (graco travel cot) in our room in POFQ, it looked like new and was in excellent condition the mattress was very comfy and clean, my DD who was 23 months spent 16 nights in there no problems.

Thank you so much for all your help, you've all put my mind at rest. One less thing to worry about!!

You're right, I am from the UK, however having lived in the US whilst at school (many moons ago), I should have remembered that they're cribs!!
