I have read and reread the rules of the park but I wanted to ask anyway, so please indulge me :) My ldd, 3 yrs, and mdd, 9 almost 10 yrs, have Stitch union suits style costumes. They both want to wear them to the parks. From what I read in the rules is that they can wear costumes under the age of 14 even if it isn't a dress up event. My concern is my mdd looks much older than she is due to a medical condition. Should I tell her gently that she can't wear hers but little sis can due to age limits? Or should I risk being told that she can't wear it because she looks 14. She is 5 ft so not tall just mature looking. TIA for reading and responding :)

I think they'll be totally fine to wear their Stitch outfits! Your older daughter won't have an issue, I'm sure.
Agreed -- absolutely. I would hate for her not to be able to wear her costume. I'm sure that if any CM makes it an issue, a simple explanation will be more than sufficient.

Thank you both so much! I talked to mdd about the rules last night, and how she looks older and I could tell she was a little sad. Now when I tell her that it should be fine she will probably be so excited and put the costume in her suitcase along with her bathing suit, lol. She has been packing since we told them all about the trip :p

The onesie type things that are just cute pajamas? Even adults can wear those (I've even had "onesie day" with a CM friend before and all other CMs we met were sad they didn't get memo to dress up with us). They're not really looked at as costumes.

Even if what they have is a little more costume looking than what I'm thinking of, your kids will be fine :). They're aware some kids do look older than they actually are. Unless the kid has a Jack medical issue that makes her age 4 times as fast, they'll likely give the benefit of the doubt ;)

Thanks all :) Yes, it's a onsie type costume for both girls. No Jack medical issues, lol, thank goodness. I did buy her an adult ticket because I didn't want to make anyone to think I was pulling a fast one since she does look so much older than her age.

I would have thought so

Wow, no way would I have spent extra on tickets so other people wouldn't judge.
Do you have anything you could take as proof of age like a photocopy of her passport if she has one?
We always took it with us before they were three for just that reason.

The tickets were Black Friday sale at Getaway so I wasn't too worried about it :) I could take her birth cert. and her diagnosis, but I figured since it gives her anxiety/ upsets her I didn't want to make it a big deal. We are doing Disney to celebrate the girls being healthy and starting out 2019 fresh with some magical memories, there isn't a price I could put on that.

I can certainly understand that, I hope you enjoy your celebration.
Her diagnosis isnt anyone business, if you had proof of age that is the entire amount of info they would need.
I would also caution, though it may not make much of a difference, that some other things like kids meals/cost for dinner also changes at 10, this may make it harder to say you are under 10 when using an over 10 ticket

Regarding the kids' meals: at CS locations, no one will ask any questions. Anyone can order any meal, no questions asked. At TS locations, you can still order a kid meal for a non-kid, just be prepared to pay the adult price. Sometimes pixie dust kicks in and you may not be charged the adult price, but be prepared to pay nonetheless.
Have a wonderful time and get plenty of great photos of your girls in their outfits!

I wouldn't worry about getting the kids meal for her. I bought a kids meal for me (46 years old) when I was at Disneyland just because I wanted the smaller portions. No one ever questioned me. Also I wouldn't worry about the costume either. I've seen lots of adults dressed in costume ( I thought it went past disney bounding) in the parks. As long as she won't be mistaken as a character in the park ( IE full on Snowwhite costume, make up, wig, etc... ) she'll be fine and no one will bat an eye at her.

Thank you all so much for your replies :) I didn't even think about meals being more expensive, oops. I will definitely be posting pictures of the girls, we will see if the 16 yr old DS will let me take any of him.
