I saw where some people are dressing in Costumes for the MNSSHP? Just what is this MNSSHP? We have tickets for the group meeting on the 26h but don't have a clue what it is or how to dress. Please help!!

MNSSHP is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party. It is a ticketed event after MK closes. It is Halloween themed and people dress in costume. Linda and I are doing LTT but not MNSSHP(you can do LTT withour MNSSHP). We will leave after we eat.

Dress as a Hippie or as a member of the YARC court:)

DH and I went last year to the event. We dressed as members of the Mickey Mouse Club. You will find every sort of costumed elders and youngers. There is a route to be able to go to Trick or Treat and you get bags as you arrive for the evening to stash your loot. Of course, there are the extra rides that are open as well.

It is a big Halloween party. There is a special parade. Don't miss the beginning of that. The Headless Horseman leads it and you must be quick with the camera since it goes by quickly if you are inclined to get pics.

Hey! Great minds think alike! My daughters and I wore Tshirts with our names on them and Mickey ears for MNSSHP 2001.

You will see everything from beautiful, elaborate costumes to regular clothes. I am amazed at how creative and talented some people are! Me, not so much, hence the simple Tshirt with iron-on names. The event itself is a blast! The ride of the headless horseman, the dark colors on the castle, the special Halloween fireworks - all spectacular!

I can' wait!!

This is sounding better all the time. Can I go as a WISH Warrior, or Erica could go as a Pretty Princess of "YARC".:snooty:

Who Else is going and what are you wearing?

Dave:hippie: "YARC"

I'll be there -- though I probably won't dress in costume. One year I actually planned to go as a Goofy runner -- complete with racing bib and medal, but then spent all day in the parks and never got back to the room to change into my "costume."

My favorite part of the MNSSHP is getting photos with my favorite characters in costume -- like I have one of me and Cowboy Goofy, and me and Scarecrow Mickey, and me and some-sort-of-royalty Donald. I love that. You can also get your picture made in front of Cinderella's carriage, in front of some scary backdrop at the Haunted Mansion, etc. etc. :yay:

I never do the trick or treat stuff, but I love the special fireworks and the special villians parade. I have a great time just wandering through it all. It's just good simple fun.

Wendy can we pal around with you:love: , we get frightened easily:eek:

We might do simple costumes, there is a costume place that opens here before halloween, we might pick up something.

Anyone else wanna help Erica and I stay out of trouble?

Oh, Dave, you and the lovely Erica will have no shortage of pals that night, I'm sure, but I'd love to join you!

Dave--we'd love to join you, but since we are now not leaving until Monday we are doing MNSSHP on Sunday night (can get a discount on Sunday night and not Friday). Not sure what our costumes will be yet, though. Have to appease a 3 year old that is obsessed with princesses. We might all dress as characters from Peter Pan, DD-tinkerbelle, DS, peter pan, me Wendy, and DH Capt. Hook (arrgh!) We'll see

I think I have posted this picture a million times, but shoot - here's one more!

I make a great wench, if I must say so myself! :rotfl:
I am probably going to recycle these costumes for me & Chad. They cost me too much money to only be worn once.

Zack said yesterday he wanted to be Peter Pan, and that Chad should be Capt. Hook, and I should be Wendy. I know the Peter Pan 'family' is overdone, but it would be cute. The Wendy costume is pretty easy, but Capt. Hook could be quite $$$. We'll see...

Oh, and we will be doing LTT & MNSSHP on the 26th.
We also plan on doing MNSSHP another night earlier in the week, maybe Tuesday.

eta: Stephanie - great minds think alike!

Wow cool costumes. Are you guys wearing your costomes to dinner? How long after dinner will the MSSCHP start? Should we dress for both also?

I'm excited about this now, we need to think up something good.

Dave:hippie: "YARC"

Yes, you are required to wear your costume to dinner, Dave.

LTT before MNSSHP '05

Especially since the waitstaff will look like this:

The waitstaff for LTT on MNSSHP nights look cool in photo but in person are unbelievable COOL! They are great! You are going to love it. I just wish we could have enjoyed longer but we had a long wait in order to fit all of us together. We had 2 reservations and the staff worked to get us at one table but in order to that we ended up waiting and then had to rush thru dinner :-/ We had a LATE just before parade seating so if memory is right Vic's seating is much earlier than what we had.

You all are wearing my reserve down on that night. I've been pretty firm in that we weren't doing it. That Susan and I were going to kick back and have a quieter night so that we could really enjoy our race the next night. Barb and Cathy are still up in the air on whether they will or will not do MNSSHP.

Dave the fireworks and the parade are out of this world and my favorite nighttime entertainment is Illuminations and I think the MNSSHP fireworks comes close to blowing that out of the water. I love the music for it. My dad taped it and it's the one and only tape he's done that I watch over and over and now that I think of it will have to toss it in tomorrow while DH is at work. :goodvibes

Make sure you arrive early for the parade time to catch the Headless Horseman and enjoy the Grave Diggers. They totally ROCK! I still get shivers down my spine when I think of them and the shivers are in a good way because after all it's Disney and NOT SO SCARY LOL

I will resist. I will resist :rolleyes1

Quit whinning and get your tickets Pretty Princess, you know you will regret it if you don't. Besides if you don't we are waking you up after we are done so we can tell you all about it. You need to sleep late the next day anyway so you will need stay up late. Then we are meeting with the group for the mini golf "YARC" gathering at 2:00 the next day.

Dave:hippie: May the "YARC" be with you

Oh! OH! "Give us the redhead! We want the red head!"

Great photo -- thanks for sharing. I'd never seen it before, maties.

We went to MNSSHP a few years ago and we got in at 4PM. Apparently they do let people in at 4 they just don't advertise it as the day pass people are still in the parks till 6 I think.

Kim we are doing dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern then the MNSSHP. We start dinner at I think 4:30 so that would put us out probably around 6. Are you doing dinner with us at the LTT???
