Costumes in Downtown Disney?

I picked up an odd hobby in 2020. I like to take photos in an inflatable T-rex costume. Not Disney related at all but I take photos wherever I go.
Could I potentially take photos in out of the way places in Downtown Disney early in the morning or another non-busy time? Or would the costume be stopped at the security check entrance to Downtown Disney? I'm staying at the Disneyland Hotel if anyone has tips or thoughts on taking photos there as well. My goal is to be unobtrusive to other guests (but still get fun photos if possible).
I should mention that the costume is in a small string backpack until I put in on, which takes about 5 minutes or less.

In general, adults are not allowed to wear costumes on Disney property, with the exception of the various Halloween events held after hours.

I knew the Parks were out but I hoped maybe the hotel. Perhaps I won't even pack it then. Disappointing since there are great photo spots.

Yeah, that won't fly. They will ask you at security what it is and then tell you to take it back to your room.

Adults must have their faces visible at all times once inside the bubble.

You could always call to ask. Or take it anyway if it is small, maybe they would allow it in the hotel very early in the morning, it might be entertaining for the overnight cast!

TBH, knowing the Disney policy regarding costumes, it would make me a little uneasy to see someone in the hotel dressed as a T-Rex. It's sad that the world has come to that, I know, but I would view it as very out of place and if it covers the face, it could be scary to both adults and kids, depending on the design.

ETA I don't mean I'd be scared of the costume, but of what it might be concealing.

That sounds so fun!! I'd think you could at least get a few photos in the hotel, or places outside of disney.

We own one and it's the funniest costume... we took it to Costa Rica for a friends destination wedding, so now they have wedding pictures on the beach in Costa Rica with T-rex.

I think I'll take it and ask if I can take a couple of photos out by the pool early before they open. It's pretty compact. The worst that can happen is that they say no. It shouldn't bother anyone if it's before the pool opens.
I could take my really strange costume that my face sticks out of the neck. I think it's weird, but my face isn't covered. I might have several dino costumes. Okay, I do have several dino costumes.

I think you'll get away with it on the hotel grounds. But you won't get it past security into Downtown Disney.

I think it sounds hilarious and I would laugh if I saw you stalking around the landscaping at DLH early in the morning.
