Costco Travel

We used it for our last 3 trips and loved it. It was one of the best rates/deals I could find. Loved getting the "throw ins" - Gift Card, Character Dining, Lanyard/Pins, etc. Well worth it. I found it to be a better deal than Get Away today.

We just returned from our Costco Travel booked DLR package. The dining vouchers were the bonus extra for us, though I understand for the 2017 packages the offer will only be a gift card. The extra value we received exceeded what we pay annually for our Costco membership, so it was definitely worth it for us!

FYI, the Disney offerings through COSTCO are actually handled by The Walt Disney Travel Company, just re-branded. Disney and COSTCO work out a deal in regards to special offer and perks, but it it is the same basic package. Same with AAA and Get Away Today. Most travel agents use WDTC and those packages are labeled with the WDTC logos and name. But they all come out of Orlando.

I use Costco Travel for rental cars and more often then not they have the best deals, don't have to pre-pay, and free cancellations. Haven't looked at them for Disney travel, but maybe I should!

I've always found a better deal by booking my hotel and tickets elsewhere.

I agree, but I do maximize my use of Airline and Hotel Frequent User programs, sometimes using points, sometimes opting to a specific place to get more points.

But I do understand that for some, they want to take the "hassle" out of the planning, and opting to use a consolidator isn't a bad option.

As for doing it yourself, I also like the fact that I can pick my preferred airport (In this case it would be LGB), flight times, preferred rental car company (once again points and perks in being preferred), and being more flexible in opting to do other things, like nearby Tourist attractions, taking tours, and working in things like Sporting events.

If I want a no worries vacation, I would opt for a Cruise Ship, or a all-inclusive resort.

You have to just price it out. Sometimes it is cheaper, sometimes not. But when it's a deal, it can really save you money. I always use costco to book our rental cars and whenever we need a best western hotel.

We used Costco for our trip this past August. For us it was the best deal/package we could find. I'd recommend them.

What I like about booking through Costco is once I make the initial payment, I can log on when I want and make payments with Disney gift cards!

How do you do that? Which website do you do that on?[/QUOT
On the Costo Travel site, click on Theme Park &Specialty, then featured deal you used, then book it, now scroll down past the little box where you put in your dates to "more" and click on retrieve reservation. Click on make a payment.

I was curious about this as well. We just booked our first cruise, but had investigated booking on our own, Dreams Unlimited, and Costco. Booking on our own would have cost us approx. $3590, no on board credit. Dreams Unlimited was the same price with $150 on board credit. Costco was over $3900, but I think we would have gotten a $240 Costco card and would have had to pay $55 for a membership. Sort of confused me because I thought the cruise price would be the same and we would end up ahead with the Costco card. We ended up booking with Dreams Unlimited.

Just FYI, the Costco price probably included prepaid tips where the others didn't. That's what happened to us last time we booked with them. The same room on the same ship booked at the same time will always cost the same regardless of where you book it unless you qualify for some kind of special offer. And Costco's cash card back on Disney Cruises is more than any OBC I've come across.

The 2017 perk for DL vacations includes all your photo pass photos, including character dining photos, which is a fabulous value. We always pay for that seperately anyway so it was a great perk to get it included in our package. With that and the included gift card, it was a much better deal than GetAwayToday or any other way I found to book our next trip. But that isn't always the case. I always price it out booking it a bunch of different ways. And you don't have to include air travel through Costco. We almost always drive to DL so we never book flights with them.

I was wondering if anyone was able to make payments on their Costco booked Disneyland trip with the Disney Vacation savings account? I don't see an option for that on the payment screen.

ktkerber I hope someone knows. :)

But I wanted to respond to this which I never saw.

Costco has a well known glitch where until you are 100% logged in, for some people it shows a weirdly higher price. It's not the true price.

If you were looking at the same room level same tips (prepaid or not) same insurance etc the price will actually end up being the same. That is why people book through them.
