Costco Rental Car - no Enterprise/Alamo?

Looking to book a rental car in September 2026. I noticed Enterprise and Alamo are no longer available beginning September 1, 2026. Only Avis and Budget are options.

I know a couple years ago, Costco stopped offering National. Does anyone know if Costco is no longer contracting with Enterprise and Alamo?

Wow, that's very interesting and very disappointing news. I just completed a rental with Alamo through Costco earlier today, but that's for March, 2026. Not good that these won't be options starting next September - hopefully, they might just be delayed getting the rates out there, but it sure doesn't look like it.

I agree. Alamo has been our go to. But booking directly with Alamo for our next trip is about $200 more than booking Avis through Costco, so it looks like we will be giving Avis a try.

Very disappointed. This makes me rethink our Costco membership.

Ouch. I prefer Alamo and always use Costco Travel to book. Guess my May 2026 reservation is still okay. Not fond of Budget as so many stories I hear from the MCO one.

I just checked our home airport of KCI and it's also that way, 8/31/26 all four options are there but 9/1/2026 only Avis and Budget (Avis owns Budget).

Because Enterprise owns Alamo I suspect it's a packaged deal which would explain why 2 options are seemingly going away it's not really 2 if the same company owns both and a negotiated deal has ended.

I'll be honest though the rental car industry has never been the same since the pandemic and we haven't rented through Costco since then as they stopped being cheaper than another option we use. We primarily book through Avis though my husband does National every now and then and rarely Enterprise.
