Costco park ticket question

Hi! We are renting points for 5 days at Poly in the fall, and then was going to use Costco S/D deal - stay two more nights at the Dolphin but bundle with a 6 day park hopper, pricewise it seems like a great buy.

Has anyone used Costco tickets before? Are they regular tickets that I can link to MDE, so that I can activate them when I get to the Poly at the beginning of the trip (and book fastpasses at 60+ from the day I check into the poly, not the date I check into the Dolphin?) Less important, can I upgrade/add days when I get to the park with their tickets?

Thank you!!!

Your Costco deal includes regular Disney MYW tickets which can be linked to your MDX account.

As soon as you link your S/D Reservation to your MDX account, check to see if you have an open 30-day FP Booking Window. If you do, then the tickets aren’t “packaged.” You’ll be able to book all your FPs when your FP Booking window opens 60 days prior to your Poly check-in Date.

thank you! if they are a package, will I still be able to start using the ticket before I check in to the dolphin? also the fp window is 60 days for the s/d i think in 2018 so im thinking worst case scenario id book my fastpasses 5 days after my original poly window, but id be able to start using the tickets the week before my dolphin stay. can you confirm? thanks so much for helping make my trip longer :)

1. Yes.
2. If the tickets are "stand-alone" you can book from the Poly check-in date.
3. Yes.

I believe S/D has the tickets “bundled” but not packaged - this means, 60 days before your Poly Check-in, be prepared to book all your FPs for all park days.

“Packaged” tickets are only offered by Disney-owned onsite hotels.

The way to confirm is to link your stay and tickets and see what opens up in the FP booking window as I described above. :)

Have you priced other sources for 6-day tickets?

I’ve done undercover tourist and the southwest 4 for 7 deal...

6 days w hoppers for my crew from UT are 1700 ish. The two night package from Costco is 2100 for resort view rooms and all fees included, so I’m paying $200/ night for s/d including fees which is pretty good. I have time to wait and see if another good buy 4 days get 7 type of thing comes out though.

UPDATE, because this post comes up in a google search and couldn't find anyone who'd done it anywhere else on the internet. Bought the package. Linked tickets to MDE. 30 day FP window open. Haven't added my S/D ressie in there and it doesn't show, so they aren't linked.

In conclusion- mods are correct- if you book a Costco package you can link the tickets to any other resort reservation and not have the same FP issues you have with resort packages and split stays

Thanks for returning and reporting! :goodvibes To clarify, tickets link to MDX and any “onsite” reservations linked to MDX will open up the 60-day booking window.

I read it as the Costco "package" is actually "Room-only, plus stand-alone tickets."

If it was like a Disney resort package, the tickets would not show up instantly with a 30-day FP window.

Bundled not package as I had described earlier in the thread.

Was just clarifying from the recent post that tickets through Costco don’t “link” to any other reservation - they link to MDX.

I have a costco "package" for Dolphin and tickets... I am arriving in May but when I go to FP on MDE now I am able to book FP 60 day out so.... I think hiroMYhero is correct. :thumbsup2

yes! my trip is a ways out, I anticipate that the 60 day window will open in a few months.

Me too, and I thought you were correct but I called Disney 3 different times and was told differently by 3 different people. With FOP needing 60 days + and Toy Story probably being open when we go, I was nervous to risk having to book same day FP. Glad I trusted this board above Disney agents :P

We did the Swan/Dolphin package and everything worked perfectly--60 day out FP and all. It weirded me out a bit that it all just linked through MDE. We never did actually receive any tickets. BTW we loved the Swan and Dolphin.

We're staying at S/D on a deal from Costco during our trip in June. I booked the trip on Friday and I'm currently having trouble linking my resort reservation to MDE. For those who have previous experience booking this package, did you have any trouble linking your stay?

I don't recall having issues with linking things up once we found everything in the email. I do recall that one set of numbers seemed really unintuitively placed in the document. The other thing we found a little alarming was that for about two weeks, despite everything linking up right, neither the Swan nor Disney seemed to know we were coming. During that period Costco was wonderful to work with though.

Yes I had so much trouble linking up. If you search my name you will find all my posts about it AND all the helpful suggestions people here made :lovestruc In hindsight I believe much of my trouble was from trying to link my Dolphin ressie too soon. I had no trouble linking my tickets. I was told to wait atleast 5 days which I did but in reality it was more like a week to sort all the ressie numbers out between Dolphin and Disney. It turned out fine and it was well before my 60 day window but my advice going forward would be to caution people to buy well in advance of your 60 FP window !
