Was wondering if anyone has had the poke from the nearby Costco, and if so do you remember how much it was? Just saw poke at our nor-Cal Costco today for the first time, and it was $16.99, plus they would not sample it (law against "raw samples" in CA, althought hte shrimp wasn't raw, lol). I was on the Big Island a couple of years ago, and I don't remember it costing that much - plus would rather try b4 buying.

I'm also in Northern California, and tried the Costco poke for the first time. Very good, and very fresh. It's shipped overnight from Hawaii.
The costco employee mentioned it was only $6.99 in Hawaii.

In at Aulani right now and checked my poke container that I bought at Costco here. The shoyu poke is 16.99 a pound. Garlic shrimp poke is cheaper at 11.99 a pound.

We are only at Aulani 5 nights. Worth doing Costco or was everything huge?

Thanks!

We always do a Costco run when we stay at Aulani. We buy cereal, milk and yoghurt as well as fresh fruit. They have awesome platters of fresh fruit all cut ready to eat. Because we have young kids they "need" food as soon as their eyes are open. So this fills them until we decide if we are going to eat breakfast out or wait until lunch. We don't buy anything else but that is because we eat out every lunch and dinner.

We bought the bulk of our stuff at the commissary since Costco stuff is so large. We did buy Costco chicken salad and croissants which I made into sandwiches to take to the pool. The sandwiches at Ulu Cafe are $9! We also bought berries at Costco because they are really expensive in our home town so it was quite the treat for us. All in all, I think the Costco stuff is a bit large for a week or less, but we've managed to eat 12 Costco muffins and 10 apple strudel in less than a week :-P.

If you do buy Costco I would suggest bringing sandwich baggies so you can break Costco stuff down into smaller sizes to take to the pool/beach, when you go out and about, etc.

My favorite Costco purchase from our recent Aulani trip: A couple of bottles of Koloa Mai-Tai. Mmmm. Can't imagine how much we saved by having our own drinks rather than buying them there!

We were only there for 5 nights and shopped at Costco. We got the wrap sandwiches, fruit, bagels, POG juice, beer, wine, and a few other items. They had a nice selection of drinks with the alcohol already mixed in. The margaritas were perfect to take down to the pool.

Are the Mai Tai's big bottles with alcohol already mixed in??

What kind of drinks did you buy pre-mixed, make? Anything frozen? Good beers?

Just returned from Aulani last week, we were there for 7 nights, The Poke was 14.99 a pound, we went there on our first day... Bought Milk Eggs Fruit and snacks for the week, we only ate Breakfast in the room. What a great place Aulani is. Costco is only 4 miles from the resort
