Hi
I want to add my sister as an additional driver. But she does not come down until the next day.
Can I present a screen image of her license at alamo checkout or do I need to drag her to an alamo counter when she arrives? I am using the skip the counter option.

It's company specific. With National and Hertz you don't have to add specific people, any immediate family or business associates can use the vehicle. With Budget I had to have my wife with me with her DL. I think with Alamo we were going to have to wait in line to have her DL checked so we decided it wasn't worth it.

I believe I added DH's DL info when I checked in online the night before (Alamo) to do skip the counter, but I can't remember if we had to show his license as we exited the booth, sorry.

I usually hand both my DL and DW’s DL to the gate attendant, since we do skip the counter with Alamo/Costco. The one time I forgot, the attendant asked me for her DL, so apparently they do some verification of the information submitted during online checkin. No problem in our case, since she was seated next to me in the passenger seat.

You should really, really consider buying the entire extra coverage package if you are going to add your sister. You can check with your policy but this is really a situation where the overwhelming majority of the time you -- and specifically you only -- are going to really regret not getting coverage if you get in an accident. Generally what happens is that your insurance is going to tell you that they are not insuring your sister. Your sister's insurance is going to say that yeah, she got in an accident but she isn't responsible for the car -- you are. Your insurance is still going to say -- they aren't insuring your sister.

Depends entirely on your insurance, the sister's insurance, the Credit card insurance and the rental company's stance. My personal insurance covers any vehicle I am responsible for, and any vehicle I am driving. My credit card insurance covers anyone authorized to drive the vehicle if it's rented under my name with my card.
