Costa Rica or Cabo on the RCI?

Contemplating taking an RCI vacation next year. Thinking Cabo or Costa Rica and wondering if you had any tips/suggestions for me?!?!

We have been to Cabo twice and loved it-but stayed in a friend's house. So I am not much help with the nuts and bolts of exchanging. The weather in Cabo (except for summers according to our friends) is beautiful nearly all year round. For us, it's a very long flight-you really give up a day on each end. But maybe that's not an issue for you-if you do a search on these boards rentayenta posted a trip report from their exchange to Cabo and from her pictures the villas were really nice.

I have been to Cabo but not to Costa Rica. I would certainly encourage you to consider, Cabo because there are many great and easy to get options there. I don't think the timeshare options for Costa Rica or all that good overall. Still, Mexico is easy to get and not that great a value when trading. If you can get someone else to reserve for you that also owns RCI, that would probably be a much better choice.

Now that I've had time to look more at the CR resorts, of the 7, 5 are All Inclusive (AI) mandatory and none are highly rated. I'd do due diligence before I accepted one of them. Realize that most are hotel or studio only with a couple with 1 BR units.
