Cost to expand monorail track

I had heard the same thing mentioned in the article. It is probably why we will never see such an expansion to the other theme parks.

I had also heard a number of $1 million dollars per monorail beam.

$50m to $100m per mile is about what it costs for new rail lines in the real world.

On WDW property, the cost would no doubt be lower, because a BIG part of that 50/100M is for property acquisition. Obviously, Disney already has that covered.

1M per mile is fantasy, but I could see something like say 20M per mile as a realistic cost for Disney.

The issue is that WDW is so dispersed now that the number of track miles required would be very, very high.

I agree...I also think another issue is that it would be EXTREMELY difficult to add monorail stops to resorts and parks that are already in place...unless there's a plan somewhere.....which there might be. :)
