Cost of Upgrading $99 Military tix to Annual Pass

I am REALLY hoping someone knows the answer to this question. We are planning on getting the $99 Military tickets for a trip later this year. We are thinking about upgrading them to annual passes, as I know you can do. However, I need to know if you will have to pay the difference from the sale price of $99., or if you will get gate price credit for your 5 day ticket and pay the difference from that.
PLEASE someone in the know, give me the scoop. Long story, but it will have an impact on when we will schedule our trip.

It has been stated on another thread that you will only be given the $99 ticket credit. Trust me, I was all over that possibility
