We'll be staying at the Castle Inn and Suites just down the street from the Harbor Blvd entrance. Anyone taken Uber or Lyft from that area to John Wayne Airport (SNA) and willing to share the approximate cost? Is it pretty easy and quick to get a pick up in the late afternoon? Thank you

If you go on the Uber app and look right now, it has uber X as $21.05 and uber XL as $35.64. It will depend a little on the time of day and whether or not there is surge pricing.

We took it from SNA to the Grand Californian and from Tropicana back to SNA. We had $22 credits each way and didn't have to pay anything additional for either trip.

I also paid around the same. Sna to the anahiem Hilton was right around $20. DLH was $20 as well

My Uber app won't let me check pick up and drop off for places away from my current location! It only comes up with where I currently am an won't open the text box to let me type in a different pickup spot. It's also saying no drivers in my current area. Maybe I can't get into the system until I'm in an area where it's in use?

You should be able to use this - https://www.uber.com/fare-estimate/, to estimate the cost for Uber. I found this for Lyft - https://estimatefares.com/costs. I put in John Wayne Airport, Orange County when I tried them.

I hope this helps!

Add me to the group that has taken Uber to/from SNA for right around $20.

We paid around $20 using Lyft from the Best Western Park Place Inn

We have used Uber a number of times from SNA. We are at Disneyland right now. DH and I came in separately and both paid $20-21. DH had a $22 credit so his was free. We always pay around that amount. Never had surge pricing here.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but am wondering if anyone has used Lyft/Uber from DLR to LGB? Approximate cost?
Thanks

We took two uberXLs on a Tuesday night at 11pm-ish - both were around $30 I believe. Sunday morning at around 8am my parents took a regular uber, and I think that was around $20.

Does Uber pick up at SNA and is the pricing the same for a drop off? Orlando has a special deal and Uber costs more leaving the airport than arriving.

FYI, Uber/Lyft can take you from your Hotel to LGB, but currently they are not allowed to pick up on Airport property.

Actually, you can take Uber from LGB to your hotel, you just need to use UberBLACK, UberSUV, or UberLUX. UberX is not currently allowed.

Because only the higher levels of Uber are allowed, you would end up paying approximately $60-$100. Unless you're looking for a nicer and/or bigger vehicle, a taxi would likely cost you less since you can get a flat fee of $45.

Uber/Lyft have agreements with John Wayne (SNA) and LAX (Special pick up points on the upper level).

No idea on the price deal. It might be the arrangement with the Airport, where the airport charges a fee to pick up at the Orlando airport, but nothing on a drop off, so cheaper for Uber to drop off a guest.

And thanks to 3Tinks... for the correction about the higher levels of Uber, and the fact it would be cheaper to use a Taxi.

Thanks for your reply. So if I am flying into SNA but flying out of LGB, it appears as if regular Uber/Lyft works. Does anyone else know if taxi or Uber are less expensive to LGB?

T Does anyone else know if taxi or Uber are less expensive to LGB?

UberX standard fare is typically 30% ish cheaper than a taxi.

And FYI the reason you can use Black, SUV and LUX at LGB is that those levels of Uber are serviced by a registered car services with the appropriate TCP permits vs X, XL and Select that are personally owned vehicles with non commercial drivers.

Using this calculator from LGB to Disneyland, I am getting $62 to $81 as the cheapest of 4 options.

Since a Flat Rate from LGB to Disneyland is $45 using a Taxi (Required by LA County regulations), being able to just walkout a grab a cab (no waiting compared to using the app to let them know you are ready) and head to Disneyland and your Hotel is a no brainer.
