Anyone know how much the kits cost at Fort Wilderness? TIA
When we ate there we saw people that brought there own and even some people roasting hot dogs over the fire ... I thought that might have been a bit much![]()

The kits are $8.99 and sticks are $0.50 each. A bag of marshmellows is $4.99.
There were a few people roasting hot dogs last weekend but it was unsally 1-2 on a stick . There was one guy who had a pitchfork like stick with 4 hot dogs but he would wait for lulls in the crowd before cooking them. Everybody was very friendly and there wasn't any pushing or shoving.
As for hot dogs contaminating the marshmellows, that actually is an issue for me as my mustard allergy is also airborne. I had to stop doing marshmellows when the hot dogs came over. It's rare you'll find someone like me though so I wouldn't really worry about it.
Have to ask, and sorry I know its nit picky but about how many s'mores does the kit make? We've never done this but we are considering it this fall. Thanks
The kit comes with a small box of Kebleer Ghram Crackers, 2 Hershey bars, and a bag of marshmellows. I guess it would depend on how you make your s'mores as to how many you can make. You can probably make 4-8 s'mores and have leftover marshmellows for munching. All I eat are the marshmellows. I will say that I went with my DM, DD, and DN5 and we still have half the box of crackers and half the marshmellows too. The chocolate didn't make it to the start of the movie.

Just a few questions: does it get really crowded? How early do you have to arrive? My kids are smaller so will they get a spot to roast the marshmallows? Did anyone find it wasn't worth the time or trip over to the campground for this?
We are taking grandma this trip and long days in the parks aren't really doable everyday and thought this would be a fun thing to do one evening.

Might be a silly question but how do you make s'mores! I understand what they are but can imagine how you would do this over a fire with a stick? Sorry but im British we don't camp, it's too cold!
we did the campground fire a couple of weeks ago. it's a bit of a pain to get to as you have to as get a boat from Mk to the campground, and then on the correct bus at the campground, and then find the campfire once you get off the bus! it's not signed well at all but there were other people going that way who helped us find it.
it started at 7.30 and the first 30mins or so were just the campfire. it's not particularly large but sufficient. i noticed they had another fire which they would probably have lit if it was really busy.
there was a kiosk selling drinks and smores kits, we paid $9.99 for a kit and it made more than enough for us (2 adults, 2 kids). we could only eat 2 each at most, quite sickly!
after a while a man with guitar came and led the sing along, he did quite a few well known country songs and got everyone joining in.
whilst he was singing chip and dale were there, they each took one side of the audience and went round each family in turn, posing for photos.
it was a cute and fun evening, I'm sure you'd love it. just make sure you leave on the right bus (we didn't and had an impromptu campground tour!). it was after 9pm when we left on the boat and we saw some of the electric water parade en route, bonus!)
