Normally my wife and I would be in a 1 bedroom or a studio with our 1 young son....however we are planning a trip that involves some other family, and will neccesitate us getting a two bedroom...In my mind, and I am sure in their mind, they intend to give me some money for this trip...I am jsut struggling over what I should ask for....has anyone else had this issue?, and are there any suggestions around what or how a price can be set without seeming to offend?

WE usually have guests with us. Sometimes friends, sometimes family. We have always been eager to invite others along who would not normally afford to go to WDW and stay on-site. With those who were on a tight budget, we just suggested they plan and be responsible for preparing at least one main meal. We have never asked for anything, but most feel they need to do something. Most have taken us out for a nice meal at one of the resorts.

Here's some thoughts......

1). Figure out the point difference between your typical 1BR (or studio) and the 2BR for when you are going. Discount the $ per point from the street rental rate to where you feel comfortable and give them that number.

2). Where would they stay if they weren't going with you? All Stars or Beach Club ? Get the cash prices from Disney's web site.

3). Give them the room for free and have them pick up the tab on the park tickets.

4). Give them the room for free, and have them pay for dinner every nite in Epcot.

I think if you the above scenarios, you'll come up with a pretty reasonable range. But don't make it too cheap, once they stay in a DVC 2BR they'll be wanting to come back with you forever !;)

I've invited several family and friends to join us at OKW and at BW, and I usually do not ask for anything, but if they insist on paying, then I let them pay for our passes, mine and my son's, and that appears to work out great for them. Another time, my one friend offerred to pay for the rental car for the week for us. And, another time, I got a very pretty Mickey Bracelet. And, a mickey watch, and Disney Dollars.

I think, that if you are going to charge, it is best to bring that up ahead of time. Hopefully, your friends will just offer and you can decide between the two of you, what would be best :D

Have a wonderful stay!

The last time we took friends, we just let them buy dinner one night. We went to on of the nicer EPCOT resturants. At the end of our stay we were surprised with a nice gift/souveiner from our friends.

I started typing and realized that DisneyDiane already typed my response:

Thanks for saving me some typing Diane.....
