Cost of painting living room vs. do it yourself???

Hahaha. Imagine my surprise when I got an alert that there was a response to my thread. And I was like, "What?? I don't remember posting a thread about painting."

Um, yeah! You've probably repainted it a couple of times by now given this thread is 10 years old!

We have a 3,000 sq foot ranch. I paid 1800 including paint to have just the entire house painted minus ceilings, it was a new build and didn't think it was necessary to paint them. That includes 3 bedrooms, 3 bathroom, mudroom and our living area (family room, dining room sun room, and kitchen are all vaulted ceilings. I just had the house repainted including ceilings, minus the bedrooms and 2 of the bathrooms for 1640 including paint. He did some major drywall repairs as our dog really scratched the walls in a few spots in out mudroom in her old age and I was replacing hardware in the one bathroom so he had to patch that and the spot in our hallway where we had a baby gate left some damage. Do you belong to any facebook groups with handyman repairs etc? Both people were bonded and insured and used Sherwin Williams paint. It was also a higher end line of SW not the promar or whatever it is called.
