Cost of DLP Tickets through DVC

Hi all!

Sorry if this has been answered on a previous post. I am thinking of using points to book Sequoia lodge in DLP later in the year, as well as the booking fee of $95, I understand park tickets need to be purchased. Can anyone tell me the cost for a 4 day pass in Dollars for adults and do children get any reduction?

We are going to Sequoia Lodge with DVC points in July and taking another family with us. We had to pay $179 per person (slightly less for children). They are length of stay passes. We are staying three nights so are for four days. We usually get to the resort fairly late and leave early on our last day so a bit fed up at having to pay for four days. We have decided to stay the night at Dover and get an early ferry and stay late the day we leave and spend the night in Calais to make the most of these tickets. The other thing is I don't think breakfast is included., like the last time we stayed on points.

Having said that I would rather use these points than rent them out as it really is hard work!!

Have you looked at the EuroTunnel option? We are quite lucky as we live close to the Tunnel, but an 8am train will mean a 1pm arrival by car. On day 4 you can set off at about 6pm and be on the train at around 10pm (local time). If you dont live too far from Folkestone it couldnt be easier!

And I can assure you that you dont want to be staying in Dover overnight, have a look a little further out as there are much nicer places to be!!

Sorry that doesnt help with the DVC related issue as I dont know the answer to that. I thought that it was not very cost-effective to use DVC for DLP?? We go most year to DLP and book it direct usually when they haf a 4 nights for the price of 3. We also book Eurotunnel direct too. Both added together for myself, wife and 2y/o sone was a touch over £500 for the 3 nights/4 days.

We have a seafrance season ticket which we can use for our friends as well. We always stay at the travel inn opposite the ferry terminal and have an evening meal at the Brewers Faye which is good for children.

We did look into a tunnel season ticket but not nearly such good value or flexible. We drive to Spain.

I found that it seemed better value for DVC points during the school holidays which is when we have to go than paying cash as there are definately no cheap deals. End of July was perfect for us as it is my friends birthday and school holidays.

We have 520 points a year and cannot go to WDW for a couple years so this seemed ideal.

Only 11 weeks to go.

Thanks for the advise, I will get on to member services. On a getting there note, I will be using my Tesco Clubcard on Eurotunnel, should keep the cost of the trip down a little!

Can I ask why you think breakfast is not included? Is it a new rule? We stayed at DLH in January which was after the new park ticket rules came in to operation (so we had to purchase length of stay passes for everyone) ad we got our daily breakfast as normal. Has this changed recently? Thanks

Sorry, yeah have just checked and breakfast is still included.

Would be great if the weather was as good as it is today down here in London when we go in July

Weather the last few days has been brilliant up here in Cumbria too which is unusual!!!
Here's hoping for a good summer. Especially as I do not go on holiday until I 'go home' n December.

Thanks Tinkerbell, DH's niece lives in Penrith and it always seemed so chilly when we used to visit her! We have stayed at the George Hotel and a really nice hotel just outside town called North Lakes hotel. Penrith is lovely and seems to have loads of pubs, approximately 300 miles from us

That's not a bad place to stay. You certainly couldn't get nearer the Port of Dover. If the weathers nice have a walk along the beach or if you've got the energy a 10 minute drive on to Deal where we live. Lovely Beach
